  1. Yes. Love him for his production. And for being so darn cute! You sound like my wife....and that concerns me.
  2. annoys me more Dave Otto vs Dan Plesac. Go.
  3. seriously, they need to pull the plug on this Agreed. What should replace it? A recording of Harry? Ron Santo? A strict restriction on who can sing it, like former players/broadcasters only? The organ. Len should sing it. I would be ok with a recording of Harry, personally.
  4. He's already playing SS. If DERO goes down that means Izturis or Cedeno in the lineup EPatt to the rescue!! :D
  5. I don't care whether others are able to do it. I don't need Derrek to be able to hit homeruns farther than others, I just need him to be able to hit them. And as we get into summer, and the wind is blowing out more than it's blowing in, the early "homers the wind knocked down" gives me some confidence that he'll be able to hit them out at that point. Only some confidence though. Like you, I'd like to see improvement. Fast.
  6. I understand what you're saying, but the bolded statement isn't true. He crushed one the other day that the wind killed. Nonetheless, I won't begrudge those that are concerned about his power. Crushed balls don't get killed by the wind. Plenty of opponents have managed to put the ball out into the wind this season. If the excuse is he can't power in through the wind, the sentiment remains the same. If you want to quibble over crushed balls vs homers knocked down by the wind, fine. I concede. The point is that he said he hasn't given a ball a ride at all....with the last part bolded for emphasis. That isn't the case. I partially share the concern over his power...

  8. Murton instead of Floyd/Jones please. I'm trying to stay realistic. Yesterday, Theriot at SS was unrealistic. but i'm posting today. lol...I figured that much out, thanks. My meaning was that it may not be as unrealistic as you think.

  10. Chris posted this in the Prior thread:
  11. Show me those sources. I'm a Tribune subscriber and I didn't see that in today's paper. Neither did I read about it on the Sun Times online. I've only seen it on cubs.com From the Trib: To me that implied that it was a lineup he was sticking with...
  12. Probably just precautionary-just come back from the injury, day game after night game, wet outside..sit him today, he gets 2 days more off, and he should be ready to go for the St. Louis series. I haven't heard that this is the reason for sure though. Makes sense, thanks.
  13. Any word on why Soriano isn't starting?
  14. Is it just me, or has Lou done a whole lot of "say one thing, do something else"? Maybe he implied to keep playing most of the same, but not the exact same lineup - and especially not Tuesday's. Speaks volumes about the kind of material Carrie puts together. This wasn't just Carrie. All of the newspapers implied or outright said the same thing.

  16. I say that, then I see the CNNSI.com article praising the Bulls...:P
  17. Anyone else notice that almost all of the national articles about this series are more "What's wrong with the Heat?" rather than "The Bulls are damn good." ?
  18. Wowza! I watched the 2nd half of this game (God knows I didn't want to watch the freaking Cubs) and there was never really a time where I felt like the Heat were going to make a comeback. Even when they did make their run, it had a lot more to do with what the Bulls were doing wrong than what the Heat were doing right. Deng is amazing. And Gordon was really making plays...some not so smart, but mostly were fantastic.
  19. You trying to switch from suck to blow? Fantastic reference.
  20. Wait, we're going to support Jones with his .361 (now .351) OBP in 70 ABs, even though his career OBP is .328, but his atrocious SLG in those same 70 ABs gets a pass (it's not like his career .458 OBP is enough to make up for his sub-.330 career OBP). Oh, and Murton hasn't shown you anything yet? His .367 career OBP in roughly 630 ABs isn't cutting it for you (and we're quick to write off JJ's atrocious SLG to a slow start, but Murton's poor start means he hasn't done anything?)? On a team with a massive OBP problem, that .370 is just not going to get it done for you? If some team is willing to pay anywhere near the value of JJ's .833 OPS from last year, we're crazy if we don't jump all over it and stick Murton in front of DLee (whether it be in LF or RF). =D>
