  1. Let the Athletic backlash begin...

  3. Wow, if you'd posted that pic by itself, without the tweet, I'd have had no idea who it was.
  4. :-k

  6. :( @nsbbcom has 385 followers on twitter How many of those are porn accounts?
  7. I'm definitely surprised, but the more I think about it, the more it makes some sense. Lester had a lot of struggles this season that weren't able to be quickly fixed. Arrieta had a year of being the most dominant pitchers in the game before falling back to being very up and down from game to game. Justin Wilson's troubles are obvious, and nearly everyone in the bullpen this year regressed from the year before...(he says without looking up the stats that probably disagree). It might be a situation where they just need a fresh look and a new voice.
  8. It won't embed cuz the account is protected. I had to just put in a follow request so that I can maybe someday see the pic.
  9. And other teams fanbases attempted mockery of the Cubs' loss isn't landing with any impact at all.

  11. Was talking with a Cards fan buddy....from a purely hypothetical standpoint, if the Cards fired Matheny to hire Dusty, and the Nats then hired Matheny, I wonder how each team would improve/decline?
  12. Can you explain how you think they've under-performed? I mean...yeah, the offense slumped against two of the best pitching staffs in baseball in the playoffs...no doubt. But, that's 10 games...
  13. then explain the 92 wins, division championship and NLCS appearance. The Giants never got close to those things in odd years. I don't wanna. That's not as fun as the dumb "even year" thing.
  14. There's a simple explanation here. When the Cubs beat the Giants last year, they absorbed the power of the "even year".
  15. That'd be effing stupid. I'd prefer we not trade a guy with a damn near historic glove that can hit 25-30 HR. Schwarber seems to be the obvious trade bait. He needs to go be a DH somewhere. Schwarber's value has never been higher. Baez's peaked over the last offseason, but is still higher than it should be. Not advocating either, but trading Schwarber right now would be stupid. He was untouchable a season ago. He's now a non-commodity. Wait what? Schwarber's value has never been higher but he was untouchable a season ago and now he's a non-commodity? That...doesn't make sense.
  16. After the amount of crappy weather youth soccer games I've attended, I can't help thinking how awesome indoor soccer sounds.
  17. Would be a lot nice if we could actually see the batflip You can see the bubble he's blowing though.
  18. It's very clear from the sports media articles/podcasts/videos/etc this morning that everybody was ready to publish Cubs postmortems and Dodgers fluff pieces today, and decided to publish them this morning with only slight wording changes.
  19. I'd be extremely surprised. He definitely has his offensive struggles, but with an infield of Bryant-Russell-Baez-Rizzo, you have probably one of the best, and youngest defensive infields in the majors. If one of our young players gets traded, Schwarber seems like he'd be more likely.
