    It's been NBC for quite a while...even when it was Comcast it was NBC. The change to NBC Sports was just a name change. It hasn't been Fox since 2006.

    So after I just expressed my pessimism about this, I wonder if with all the money that he gave up, maybe living costs might be a factor here. He's gonna spend a lot more of his relatively small salary to live in Cali than he would in Seattle, Chicago or Texas.

    I'm typically an optimist in general, but I don't think this is going to happen. That list of teams shows to me that he really wants to be in the west. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

    I guess you could go the other way in thinking on it... The Cubs are about 32 games better than the Cardinals over the last 2 1/2 seasons. Will Giancarlo Stanton make a big enough difference for the Cardinals? Or could taking on a lodestone of a contract and trading away prospects just as the Cubs' cost-controlled superstars enter their prime years be the exact type of thing we should be hoping the Cardinals do? Obviously, the question hinges on how much of the contract the Cards have to take on and how much they have to empty their system of prospects. I don't think it can be overstated how ugly Stanton's contract has the potential to be. He'll still be owed $180M five years from now after he turns 33! The Cardinals are in the division. Keep the good players away from them.
