  1. I want to see more from A&M and see if Sherman is there long term (he could retire or head back to the NFL). But yeah, they're definitely heading in the right direction. Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see Sherm leaving anytime soon. We played something like 18 freshman this year and he has a very good recruiting class coming in. His OL recruits are ridiculously good. The skill position players are already outstanding. I'm still concerned about the defense. I wasn't happy when Sherman was hired (I wanted Tuberville) but he seems to have us on the right track. It's going to take a lot to compete with Texas & OU every year, though. That is a tall order.
  2. Who can, consistently? I don't know. I can see OU falling from grace (I lived through some rough years when in the pre-stoops era), but I don't see Texas ever falling from its perch at or near the top of the Big 12. They have a great campus, great city, great facilities, great recent history and one of the top 3 recruiting bases in america. The only team that's consistently good enough to challenge them is Oklahoma, and we've thrown up a couple of clunkers this decade, even though we've been at the top of our game. One of the best things that could happen for OU and Texas was Leach leaving TT. That was really the only program I could see challenging them in a significant way in the near-term and now it's very unlikely Tech will be as good as it has. OU and Texas are likely to go back to complete domination of the South for the forseeable future now. Don't forget about Texas A&M. Mike Sherman is slowly digging the Aggies out of the huge hole created by Dennis Franchione. I wouldn't be surprised by a 9 win season next year.
  3. I am loving this Tech meltdown. So fun to watch. I would guess that they will hire Art Briles from Baylor, but I'm hoping for Sonny Dykes. His old man was the coach at Tech for many years and I believe he is an assistant under Mike Stoops at Arizona right now.
  4. Especially frustrating to me since I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth and have friends who are Stars fans.
  5. I finally get to watch a game and my [expletive] satellite goes out right at the start of the first Hawks PP. FML. :banghead: I guess I should have just gone to the damn game. There seemed to be a ton of empty seats when it started. Bad weather here in D/FW tonight.
  6. Very interesting.
  7. Not sure I'd want to see Detroit in the first round of the playoffs. 8-[
  8. Drinking early today, I see.

  15. He's had the brain cyst since his assistant days at Notre Dame. I think it's ESPN that is reporting that he has a heart muscle defect and has been to the hospital multiple times with chest pains since the SEC Championship game.
  16. Roland is a senior, so barring any kind of medical redshirt his Texas A&M career is done. Hopefully he can play overseas in a year or two if that's what he wants to do. He actually apologized to one of his teammates for getting hurt and not being able to finish the game.
  17. I am an Aggie and was watching the game as the injury happened. It took me several seconds to realize what had happened to D-Ro's leg. I knew sonething wasn't right, but my brain couldn't process it right away. I had a hard time sleeping that night. Derrick Roland is a great kid and a very hard worker. I hate to see that kind of injury happen to anyone, but especially someone like him. Luckily a doctor was sitting behind the UW bench. He came right out and had the leg back in place & stabilized within 10 seconds or so. The said it was a clean break similar to what Kenyon Marton had many years ago, so hopefully a full recovery is likely.
  18. I can't access it at work, either.

  21. HOSSA!!!!!
  22. Frustrating game so far. Still trying to figure out how Toews missed the wide open net earlier.
  23. I'm all for trading Theriot and wouldn't be hurt if DLee was traded or not re-signed. I'm not really anxious to see Aramis go, though. I guess I remember the parade of third basemen we witnessed before he arrived and am scared that would happen all over again. We'll see if/when Vitters ever makes it to Wrigley. I am intrigued by the thought of transitioning Aramis to first as he ages and is no longer an above average 3B.
