I'm fairly sure I read somewhere he was taking the rest of the offseason off and will resume baseball activities in spring training. I can't recall where I saw that though. pretty sure it was a joke... why the hell would he need ABs against the AFL when he's squaring up balls the horsefeathering world series?

Seeing this picture - this moment - is when I realized the Cubs won the WS this year without thinking in my head "OMG THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES" I look at this silly MS paint picture of Lilly slamming his glove on the mound and laugh to myself. but, this time it doesn't sting a tiny bit at the end when I remember it was part of a series of events that took place leading to a cubs playoffs elimination.

living in NC, college basketball is king here so you sort of have to care. I enjoy actively rooting against UNC and Duke (especially UNC) quite a bit. But getting back to the cubs and the pursuit of 108 pages...still perusing WS gear and probably will for another few days and order an item or two. Think I'll probably save the framed plaques/print press/pennants etc. for christmas ideas (at my age my mom and aunts still want suggestions when literally all i ever respond is "gift cards are portable for my trip back home"). I know I'll buy a lot for my son, too - some clothes but mainly stuff to re-live with him when he's old enough to understand.
