I guess that Lou has more faith in Derosa at SS than I thought. Because I'm fairly sure that he has no faith in Fontenot there. Pretty strange, maybe Cedeno is in serious trade talks?

Don't shoot the messenger, it doesn't make sense to me either. But they said "Scott Moore has been recalled by the Chicago Cubs".

Hmm, I don't think I like Floyd at first. He hasn't played there in 10 years, and he only played there 9 games in 97. But this year the cubs just keep on surprising me.

Why didn't the Cubs just cut Izturis if they wanted to open up a roster spot? Even without the PTBNL, the pirates are going to pay 1/3 of his salary left. If he was DFA'd we'd be on the hook for all of it.

Side Note: Izturis is only 27??? He's the oldest looking 27 year old i've ever seen.

We'll just pretend that's what they're paying Theriot to actually be somewhat useful at SS. I wouldn't have had a problem with paying 6/3 of Izturis' remaining contract. Sometimes it's just better to pay someone to play for someone else than to continue playing him on your own team. I don't get it... why would Selig allow this and not the Jacque Jones deal? Selig didn't shoot down the Jones deal, Hendry did. I thought Selig/MLB shot down the money part of the deal because he didn't want the Cubs racking up more debt as they went on the market? That was the initial report, it has since been disputed by all parties.

ESPN1000 just reported once again that the cubs are close to dealing izturis and that fox has been called up.

Lou was quoted talking about Fontenot's struggles, and I've noticed in the past a couple times that guys have been sent down or lost jobs when Lou starts talking about their struggles in the paper. He had a good game yesterday, couple of walks and a hit. I think he just needs to sit vs. LHP.
