  2. And his 2014 team option could make him our best trade chip. Garza?
  3. BJax's new swing being legit would sure be a nice (and unexpected) surprise for the Cubs system
  4. Thanks. Young power arms for free is always nice. ETA: This sounds like the perfect project for Derek Johnson.
  5. I know he's had a spotty history with injuries, but any other reason the Cards would just let him go? I'm not seeing much to dislike over this one. Great move by the FO.
  6. That seemed to read as "if healthy and he doesn't develop a third pitch, he's a slam dunk reliever". No pitcher is "slam dunk" to not be injured. I understand what you are saying, but It'd also be silly for the front office to not speak in best-term scenarios in regards to their prospects.
  7. I believe others have said this could be partially attributed to Geiger's stone hands at first.
  8. As a totally random and side note to the Kerry love of that particular game: I remember this game and loving Sandy Martinez as a 14 year old. He was new (plus), had early success (plus), had an awesome catching stance (double plus). The fact he caught this game made him infinitely cool (which I guess still stands).
  9. I don't often agree with Kyle. But when I do, it's because he's dismissing Dale Sveum.
  10. God knows what parenting books neely is reading his offspring. Sorry. God Knows what parenting books neely is reading his offspring.
  11. A lot of people I know here in Greenville, NC were watching in hopes of seeing Seth Maness pitch in light of his recent call-up. He was warming up in the eighth. Lord knows I'm glad on multiple levels that he didn't pitch in the ninth and somehow get the win.
  12. Filthy, crazy command Gregg for the win, please.
  13. Sweeney K. Somewhere out there WSR is weeping softly.
  14. This has the feeling of a break out game where shark dominates and the offense "clicks". It sparks a winning streak. Cubs win 6 of 7. Close to .500 and suddenly the season is remarkably more interesting with Garza, Baker, and Fujikawa returning. Or the cubs lose and continue to suck. That's always an option.
  15. Hairston!! And the insanely low BABIP continues!

  17. It is - but that little guy tipping his hat is just too damn adorable to get mad.
  18. Haha. I saw a Grand Marquis this past week and randomly thought about Jason Marquis. ETA: The reason I noticed this particular Grand Marquis is because it had 22 inch rims and was apparently sponsored by Facebook. It literally said "friend me on Facebook" on the bumper. I'd add him as a friend in a heartbeat, how am I supposed to find you???
  19. WSR is improving. He's kind of like NSBB's version of Krispy Kreme/Froggy Fresh.
  20. I was trying to think of the ass that predicted that.
  21. Never count on the cubs to cheer you up. Ever.
