  2. His season ended earlier than Schwarber's. They might want to get him up to speed with some in-game action in the AZL first. Who knows what's been going on down in Mesa since the extended spring training season ended a few weeks ago. Sorry. I caught my error quickly and changed my post but I think he hasn't actually signed. That may make my post read clearer. I still think it's probably just a matter of days until his signing is official. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. He hasn't technically signed per the latest cubs press release. Hoyer specifically mentioned they are signing him, so the hangup is hopefully something like delayed physical, travel issues, etc.
  4. I [expletive] love this thread.

    Rizzo

I don't know. If he's not willing to pat a Cub player on the back in a stupid ASG for making a good play, I didn't think he'd be working out and giving pointers to his competition in the offseason. Though, it was 4 years ago and I'm sure there is truth that you shouldn't read too much into one dumb quote.

    Rizzo

I think you're reading too much into comments like that from press clippings. I doubt he has any personal hatred for guys who happen to play on the Cubs.
  7. When should we expect Brett Jackson to be released?

    Rizzo

I thought Votto despised the Cubs and was obnoxiously outspoken about the fact. Am I wrong there? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. This is mine except flip Almora and Johnson. I would put Hendrix, Vizcaino, and Bruno 11-13. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. The progress of him and Rizzo have really made the best of this otherwise frustrating and ugly year. I'm really looking forward to the next couple of years.
  11. Nate CRUSHED that dong. Those 4 runs happened in a blink of an eye.
  12. Yeah. I love the idea. But, odds are if he's not good enough to stay behind the plate full-time then he would probably be a mess catching every sixth day. Who knows how it will play out.
  13. I'd love the idea that - if he is competent enough - he could catch like a game a week in the bigs. Not sure how feasible that is, though.
  14. So he raves about The Cubs picks after the first 3 rounds, hates the Schwarber pick, but doesn't acknowledge that the two are related? My thoughts exactly.
  15. Olt hit that ball about 390 ft. FWIW (not much)
  16. How do you feel about their chances to get it in? According to the radar, they should be able to get it in. First system should pass through in about an hour and the one behind it is small and could miss us entirely. Which means they will definitely get rained out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. Thanks, guys. It seems Brett over at BN posted similar thoughts about the same time I made my post. Maybe Hamel would be a better fit for the A's?
  18. It's probably (sadly) the best thing I own.
  19. From today's FG chat: Do the A's match up well with the Cubs? Any particularly interesting names?
  20. I hope so. It'll make the value of these bad boys go through the roof! https://secure.milbauctions.com/auctiondisplay.cfm?auctionnbr=10894
  21. It's perfect. I can't stop watching. Edit: Except the idiot fan over the umpire's right shoulder emphatically signaling safe.
  22. Law, at most, probably saw him pitch once. And he will now forever hang his hat on that opinion. I get judging a guy based on both his numbers and your first-hand observations. But that can't be the case with 19 year-old Tseng. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. This is the first year I have played and I thought for sure I must be an idiot when I was the only one to pick Springer as my WC. Here's hoping he can keep it up...
