i realize that the "mental gaffes" are taken into account in defense statistics (and they should, I suppose). But - and maybe this is meatbally - but I've never felt like Starlin was ever a liability on defense. His range isn't great, but he's always seemingly been quick in this reactions. His arm is more than adequate and as we saw tonight, he's capable of making really great plays. I guess I just feel like defensive metrics have to be taken with a grain of salt. It's the one (and last) side of baseball, to me, that isn't really all that easy or accurate to grade out. That being said, since I "feel" he's average to maybe a tick about average, anybody else could "feel" the opposite.
