    if quintana has actually fallen off at all and it's not just a one-year blip, we probably "lose" the trade bc Eloy and Cease are a fair bit to provide lots of value through their rookie deals. But overall it's probably fine and a trade you have to make if you're the cubs in the middle of your window. but if quintana is this guy the next couple years rather than the guy we saw last year, it's gonna really suck to watch

    Thanks. I actually had a scan show complete remission a few weeks back. However, being a blood cancer they are using radiation to make sure they get it completely so I don’t have to do this again. Basically, my tumors were located in just the right spot that they felt radiation would not harm my vital organs longterm and they could greatly reduce the damaging affects of those last 4 chemo treatments by not doing them.     hahaahahha man this is peak david i mean if getting bent out of shape whenever baseball baseballs and good teams SPLIT a horsefeathering series with a bad team is how you chose to enjoy baseball, go you. seems insane to me, but go nuts. i dunno man, i mean my thinking is the offense is fine, so if we play a team with bad pitching and the bats go cold it's whatever. But our pitching is bad, so if we play a home series against the worst offense in baseball and can't even manage a series win *because* of how bad the pitching is it's just not good. It's not "baseball baseballing," it's an indictment of our achilles heel.

    splitting no series is really horsefeathering bad. it's baseball. come on already. there's literally no sample of 4 games that can be considered really horsefeathering bad, no matter what the results. no 4 game sample is some referendum on a baseball team or something. especially not one that was split. hahaahahha man this is peak david

It’s just funny watching Lester give up rockets to the worst offense in baseball and people are like “horsefeathers yes the bullpen is so good” But that’s kinda the point, if the starters suck or get in trouble we have a very good bullpen to go to if they have a short leash with the SP and they can keep us in games and it’s not revolutionary to win that way in the playoffs. If the starter gives up 5 runs in three innings, it's not gonna make much of a difference how good our bullpen might be. We have the best record in the NL. It's worked all season. Why won't it work in the playoffs? I mean maybe it will.     I once scoffed at this sentiment, but I'm right there with you. I'm excited for Sunday funday drinking/grilling and having friends over, because that is the best part of the fall. But the football itself is almost inconsequential. I long ago stopped paying attention to any primetime game not involving the Bears. now try living in college football country, and mixing in the evil and hypocrisy of the NCAA to the mix! i can't wait to drink and eat and have fun but the first time some 18 year old kid with no future gets knocked unconscious im going to realize what a dumbass I am for watching it
