  1. mega hot take: our front office is average at best
  2. boy russell and wilson can't do anything right
  3. look i condemn all racism ok? ok? but there's very fine people in both fan bases.
  4. heyward/darvish/chatwood is what, $300 million wasted? What a world. It actually makes me wonder if they have the stomach to even sign a Harper this offseason. I imagine what happens is theo pulls a boston and goes all in to sign Harper. if it works out he absolves himself from the horrid heyward, darvish, chatwood deals. If it fails he just leaves. To be fair, as bad as those signings (and the quintana trade) have been, you really can't blame them. Heyward was a 5-war 26 year old, quintana was a 4-war guy on a cheaper than arb deal, and darvish was good value (as long as he didn't die. oops.) Even Chatwood was someone who you would never have predicted him to be worse after leaving colorado.
  5. Chatwood - definitely Darvish - probably just because so much of the perceived value is tied to the first couple seasons Morrow - eh, maybe. It’s not too unexpected though and he’s excellent when out there Cishek - sign 5 of him Don't forget Duensing. ETA: Can't imagine it's only a probably on Darvish. They'd love a $126 million do-over on that one. Most of us would. heyward/darvish/chatwood is what, $300 million wasted? What a world.
  6. quintana should never pitch more than 5 innings.
  7. Man this offseason was just ... it's crazy, out of all the FA signings made by this front office, what percentage of them would they leap at the chance to reverse?
  8. you guys are lucky we fluked into those first two wins or id be a real piece of horsefeathers to deal with this weekend
  9. Keith Law kills me, gawd. He just cannot take even the slightest hint of criticism, even if it's not remotely close to a direct swipe. Chuck: Was David Bote on any scouts radar as any kind of a prospect? Sure, it’s a SSS, but you have to love how he plays the game and what he brings offensively and defensively. I guess he’s a reminder that scouting isn’t an exact science. Keith Law: He was #12 on my Cubs ranking preseason, so I guess he’s a reminder that you should read the stuff I write? Ooooh you had him at 12 in one of the worst prospect orgs in baseball, you were right on him, baby!
  10. I'm long been picturing a heartwarming scene of him and Yu holding hands as they get wheeled into the operating room together. After the parade, though. After the parade. has trump even set a date for the military parade yet? KB might wanna get the surgery first so he's 100 percent by then
  11. ronald acuna wont stop hitting leadoff bombs off the marlins so today they led off the game by beaning him.
  12. heyward shocked that he made somewhat hard contact
  13. not only are these the first two walks of albert almora's career, they represented the first (and second) three-ball counts he's ever seen.
  14. javy would have caught that standing up
  15. *quietly goes back and deletes posts about the schoop/shaw MIF*
  16. fun fact: willson contreras has no XBH this year
  17. hahahahaha braun is somehow worse than schwarbs
