    actually, at this point, bonds reputation is so shot, that im pretty sure you could write just about anything about him and get away with it. And I did get it wrong, if someone says that I took steroids, to sue for libel I have to show that I didnt. Not sure how one would go about that.

    The key to all libel suits is the truth.The burden of proof is on the authors. If he wants to sue for libel, all he has to do is tell them to prove it. If they can't, he wins. The fact that he isn't is about as telling as it can get.

    I sure wish we had a guy that could put up a .348/.367/.870/.1237 line. Didnt we have a guy like that last year? Oh wait, we did. His name was Scott McClain and he is freaking terrible. Spring training numbers dont mean a thing, and the numbers these losers have been putting up have been against the collective dead weight that were not only not on WBC rosters, but were just spring training trash. Restovich, Pagan or Grissom. Who cares, whoever wins that battle, we lose.

    Then your handle at NSBB is fitting. :) It also reminds me of a joke my contracts professor told us: New attorney is in his first case. The opposing attorney is cross-examining his star witness, and she is really taking the witness to task. The new attorney decides she's gone too far, and he stands up and says, "Objection! Counsel is beavering the witness." After a pregnant pause, the judge motions counsel to come to the bench. "I think what you meant to say was BADGERING, son," says the judge.     his peak was just about as good as anyones. it depends on what you value more, peak or longevity. I'd take Clemens (definitely) and Maddux (probably) as far as current day pitchers, but Pedro is in that group.

    id like to kick fergie jenkins in his old, wrinkly face. Pitching is a freakshow fergie, some people get hurt and some dont. Because Prior and Wood got hurt doesnt mean that they dont "spend enough time talking to Maddux" it means that despite all the talent in the world, maybe their bodies cant handle the stress. God I hate all this "it was better in the old days" garbage that these old farts spew out constantly.
