    Re-making this coaching staff one year after a nearly complete overhaul is going to be difficult. Are they just going to push out Brandon Hyde? hell maybe they like hyde to be the next guy considering the guy he replaced got a head job(nice)

    I could see the FO re-remaking the coaching staff this year with an eye toward finding someone to be an in-house Maddon replacement soon. Maddon could either step away after next year if things go really well (or really badly) in these playoffs and 2019, or sign a short-term deal after 2019.

    if you consider 2018 Javy Baez a shortstop, he's having the second best SS season by a Cub since 1960 (Ernie Banks had a 7 fWAR season in 1960.) If you consider 2018 Javy Baez a 2B, he's having the 7th best 2B season by a Cub (the first 6 are all Sandberg) since 1960.

    I really hope Hendricks gets his due alongside Rizzo, Bryant, Lester, Javy, in 10-15 years when everyone looks back at this Cubs era. None of this happens without him somehow unlocking a god mode changeup and succeeding wildly with a profile that no other pitcher in the big leagues has.
