  1. Well then why even pay any attention to the draft? I mean why would a Raider fan want Brady Quinn because other QB's have bombed, or why would they want Calvin Johnson because Charles Rodgers bombed with the Lions, we could go on and on. What makes him and Gallary more comparable than Johnson and Rodgers? Or Quinn and Ryan Leaf? Calm down. Someone mentioned Gallery in conjunction with Thomas, being that Gallery rated higher than Thomas is likely to, and still bombed. You said you didn't know anything about Gallery, but that Thomas would be a "force for 10+ years". I gave you a little info on Gallery, and somehow you took offense. I'm very calm, what implied that I wasn't? In what way did I take offense? I asked a legitimate question about how Thomas is more like Gallory than any other player in this draft is like a former bust at the same position. Still waiting for an answer. The question is "how is he different?". And you won't know the answer for awhile, ala Gallery. You said Thomas was a sure thing and that you didnt know anything about Gallery, so I filled in some blanks for you, it's as simple as that, I don't know what synapse is taking a nap and keeping you from figuring this out.

  3. You said Joe Thomas would be a force for 10+ years, that's the same as saying "sure thing". This is a stupid argument, as I think Joe Thomas will probably be a hell of a player for a long time. It's just that he and Gallery are comparable, and Gallery bombed.
  4. If I'm getting those two receivers, I start Schaub and draft Joe Thomas. That would be a wise move. Joe Thomas will be a force for 10+ years. Robert Gallery was supposed to be the same thing and that's turned out great for the Raiders. But that's just because it's the Raiders so other teams should have nothing to worry about. I didn't know too much about Gallery, but Joe Thomas is legitimate. I think he is the safest bet in the draft. Maybe being a Raider killed his career, but he has nothing to do with Joe Thomas. We can run down a long long list of Top 10 quarterbacks who were busts, but they have nothing to do with Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell. You said that Joe Thomas is "legit", well Gallery was regarded just as high or higher than Thomas is. Gallery was a "sure thing", too at one point. No draft pick, especially a offensive lineman is a sure thing.

  7. I dont think that guy is going to show up. If it was up to me, you would be in. hold your horses
  8. This fact proves that these projections mean little in real life I doubt you even know what WARP is, so I'm not sure how you can make this claim. I think the projections are a little wonky too, but I'm not tossing out the whole system here.
  9. Wasn't this mentioned as early as last season?
  10. Wow. Put me in the crow eating group that said we would never sign him.
  11. Quick, someone send this list to Sean Gallagher!
  12. If memory serves, I seem to recall him saying he tried steroids very briefly and couldn't discern a real benefit from them. If you ever seen House in person, he's tiny, maybe 5'7"-5'8" on a good day, from what I recall he might've been one of the 1st to try steroids to add velo and that's probably the 1st time he realized that maintaining flexibility is more important than adding mass as it didn't add velo. He believes in nutritional supplements to help speed up the recovery time between outings. That is exactly correct. You will not find your fastball in a weight room. Pitching is mainly a speed of movement activity. Weight lifting does not train pitchers to improve in that area. Juan Cruz is a good example of this. He is really thin, but he generates his velocity from his speed of body movement. Good mechanics with a smooth delivery and with proper timing is how you generate a 90mph fastball. r u a pitcher or sumthin
  13. That's exactly what he just said, Mr. Echo.
  14. I for one hope he plays another 15 years in the majors, none for the Cubs, though.
  15. Relate to the matter as they drop the bomb, because they're House'n
  16. I want Jose Reyes SS NY Mets By the way, KC, pm Tim and tell him to make us our own secret little forum for this league, and we can move all the draft stuff over there.
  17. I don't have particularly strong feelings about Sammy one way or the other, but heres hoping that he kept himself in baseball shape.
  18. Uh, how does this trade make any sense
  19. No one on the Cubs can dress
  20. Huh? Lilly made 4 million and Prior made 3.6 last year. How do you figure Prior makes more. He barely even pitched last year? That was Lilly's last arbitration year. Prior is still in the middle of his.
  21. vance ill trade you my first rounder and an autographed picture of me and tv personality matt lauer taken in waikiki for your first rounder pick
  22. if lilly were in arbitration, he would make less than prior would.
