  1. do you think they would accept a pie/patterson package for cabrera
  2. Not only is he not walking at his old pace, he's not walking at a league average pace. I hope it's just a slump, but there haven't been any signs of him popping out of it. He's not even making a lot of solid contact.
  3. in honor of the incredible hulk, lee smashes his bat also, in honor of the incredible hulk, lee really sucks
  4. what kind of world is it where Delwyn Young out-OPSs Delmon Young?
  5. Well, at least it looks like that one run wouldnt have mattered
  6. where other bad calls leave you with the option to pick yourselves up, that one literally took a run off the board. That really hurts.
  7. I dont know if someone is keeping you guys up to date here, but the Rockies scored 5 in the 8th and now lead the Brewers 6-4 heading into the top of the 9th
  8. Is that a record length for fight related suspensions? Obviously, drug related suspensions ar much longer, but I cant remember anyone getting a 6 or 7 game suspension. How long was Lees for the Chris Young slap fight? 3 games, right? Hopefully The Rays will appeal and hold the suspensions until we play them. Edited: we will at least miss Iwamura in the Rays series. Sure, hes not Carl Crawford, but hes the type of scrapper that hurts us big time. Unless appealed, the suspensions will be scheduled to begin on the following days: -Friday: Crisp and Lester; Shields and Gomes -Wednesday: Crawford - June 13: Jackson - June 14: Casey -June 17: Akinori Iwamura Who knows, maybe Shields, Gomes, and Crawford will appeal and we'll miss at least one of them. Didn't Barrett get 10 for AJP? worth every inning
  9. i kinda wonder if all the talk about it being mental led to it being even more mental...if that makes any sense. gotta be impressed with the one hit (a bunt single) in five innings part though. still got his stuff. Just comparing it personally, when I was in high school i was a 90% FT shooter my first two years. I took a hard fall in one game and got a deep thigh bruise on my right leg. I could never get my form back at the free throw line, even after it healed and there was no pain. I almost shot higher from the field my senior year than i did from the line. It makes me wonder if he maybe hurt something, which messed with his mechanics and now he hasn't been able to get it back.
  10. It's mental, it has to be. The Cubs pulled him early in games at the beginning of the year to keep him from getting smashed and then they sent him to AAA to work on his mechanics and he struggled and then got hurt. I don't buy a lot of the amateur psychology that goes around, but I can't understand how a guy could totally lose his mechanics so quick. The Cubs seem to think that he's fragile and everything that's happened so far points that way. I hope he gets it back.
  11. Lol Chris Lubanksi. Deemed a wasted pick shortly after the Royals drafted him, but at least he made it to AAA
  12. I love Rebel Ridling. A story crossed the wire last week about him — I think his hometown has 800 people in it or something like that.
  13. Coco's whole "I don't think he really wanted to punch me" tough guy act after the game was hilarious. Is that why he threw a big, loopy overhand right? I don't think even I would be afraid to punch Coco Crisp, he's like 5'9 Thoughts. If a guy is running at you full speed, you don't throw a punch, you tackle him. Johnny Gomes is awesome, but all he was doing was punching his own teammates. It was awesome seeing Iwamura trying to land a punch. I loved watching that Rays bullpen guy messing with his sandal during the fracas. The dugout shot of the Rays was great. You catch the whole dugout emptying onto the field, and a team doctor running for his life.
  14. sounds like bob is gunning for a manager spot somewhere next season
  15. California born guy that goes to KU? double whammy imo
  16. oh well, wishful thinking. celtics are really impressing so far
  17. I really like the Cashner pick. If there's a guy with better stuff in this draft, I haven't seen him. In the meantime, can we all take a moment and lol at Darwin Barney. What round was this guy drafted in, again?
  18. Paul Pierce waits a decade to get into the finals and he blows his knee out in the third period of the first game. THATS GOTTA HURT
  19. I'm no scout, but the video of Cashner's stuff made me weak in the knees.
  20. Ok, Cubs pick time. We get: Ryan Flaherty, SS Vanderbilt 6'3 210? he won't stick at short
