  1. "I was dead for billions of years before I was born and I suffered no inconvenience for it."
  2. the way this all played out is bradley's fault. i don't know if he's unbalanced (likely) or what, but whatever, he's acted like a dick and his teammates don't care for him. But the real villain in all this is Jim Hendry. I keep hearing that we'll have to eat 80-90 percent of this contract to move it. That's 16+ million dollars for a potentially cash-strapped team. There was a risk-assessment in this signing that the Cubs' brass totally failed at. Now we have to eat a lot of dough just to get Bradley off the roster, and the odds seem low that we'll be able to get a RF replacement in the deal, meaning we'll have to promote in-house (we have no one worthy of a spot on our current roster) or sign someone, which we can't do since we'll be paying 16 million dollars for Milton Bradley to play in Oakland, or wherever. Unless Hendry can figure out a way to get someone in here for RF that isn't a complete disaster, this has to cost him his job. For better or worse, he's somewhat married to this situation and it went as badly as possible. This was such an avoidable situation and he walked into it head first.
  3. tell me someone else heard Berman just now during their idiotic "COME ON, MAN" segment. They were talking about what happens if you have 12 men on the field and you have to call a timeout and he said: "I guess in that case it would be come on not enough men. Or come on too many men."
  4. look, this is 99 percent bradley's fault, but that doesn't excuse the way our idiotic fans act
  5. oh i got it, let's tell minaya that starlin castro is the son of former dominican president fidel castro
  6. do you think we can convince minaya that hak-juk lee is dominican
  7. Oakland works since nobody cares about anything there and he won't be talking to any press. I was mainly looking at it from the angle that he had already played there and they wouldn't want to deal with his [expletive] again, but Beane will probably look at it like it's essentially a free walk-machine, since we're going to eat 80 percent of his contract, anyway.
  8. Is there any chance that Bradley isn't traded to Baltimore? I imagine Hendry's gonna have to call in a favor to get rid of Bradley, and Florida and Oakland don't seem like good destinations for Milton.
  9. I don't care if someone wants to switch teams - just do it already - what annoys me is people who hem and haw and ask if it's ok and wonder out loud who they should root for, etc.... I don't get into the whole "well you're not a real fan" blah blah blah nonsense because who cares if you are or not, it doesn't effect me in anyway. just shut the hell up about it, i don't want to be a part of your need for attention (unless it's a funny need for attention)
  10. i was watching the football game

  15. mocking it more than once is below me
  16. I'm certainly not above name dropping, no doubt it's shameful but you get to mock it, so it does have some value it's too easy, mocking that is below me

  18. well my neighbor patrick willis..
  19. lol i'm going to lose in fantasy because of that, the guy im up against has the NYG defense
  20. the park certainly helped, but he was still really good. he's shown he can get hot and putu p big numbers. the problem is, most years he doesn't get that hot. also, iirc milton had a ridiculous babip last season
  21. i dont want to fall into sullivan's trap, but by the looks of things, a lot. Lee and Ramirez and company weren't exactly wishing him a fond farewell. Yes, but unless you can come up with a name right now who will produce more than the mythical production levels of a 2010 Milton Bradley, you are completely wrong. to be honest, i don't see anyone on the roster that can top what we would theoretically get from bradley in 2010, but... a lot can change between now and april we were "lucky" to get as many games as we did from bradley this year, he's a good bet to miss a lot of time next season he's obviously miserable, for a variety of reasons, many of which are his own fault, and as bad as his attitude and actions got to be this season, it would likely only get worse next year. Can you imagine the articles sullivan and company would be writing during spring training next year if bradley were around? It would be unbearable. So, yes, Bradley is an idiot who and is as responsible for this situation as anyone else, but this basically played out just like everyone's worst fears and now, thanks to Hendry, we're kind of behind the 8-ball at a position where we need to get production next year. Maybe Hendry can pull some magic move and get us a productive RF out of this deal, but maybe not. Either, way, getting Bradley off the team now is the right move, but if we can't get a productive OF for next season, it should cost Hendry his job.

  23. I'd say this was the right call. At some point you just have to cut your losses, and this situation was clearly just going to get worse next year.
  24. LET'S GO DALLAS
  25. Didn't the ref knock it off? Cutler had his helmet on the top of his head and the ref knocked it off. Time was called or the play was dead regardless. no, the play was live, cutler and the ref were watching the clock rundown so they could call a timeout. it was favoritism and bs plain and simple Is it still a penalty if the helmet isn't all the way off? Either way though, the refs blew plenty of calls in favor of Pittsburgh today, including Hillenmeyer being dragged to the ground on the Mendenhall run. im really just making fun of soul for crying about peterson getting favoritism from the refs when his helmet got knocked off earlier today. i think jay cutler rules
