That Thursday night game last year between San Diego and ... someone ... was honestly the most embarrassed I've ever been about myself as a sports fan. I'm at my girlfriend's mom's house, kicking it with her family, and in the worst mood of my life because I sat Vincent Jackson and he had like 3 touchdowns and scored about 40 points. I couldn't even explain to anyone why I was cussing at the TV because I was too embarrassed.

Perhaps tampering rules only apply to players that are property of another team? I really don't know. Seems awfully shady. Yeah either way it shouldn't be allowed. He didn't do any workouts, interviews or medical exams for any team. Today they're saying his agents shut him down so miami could draft him, but the thunder drafted him anyway.

I really hope the draft turns into teams dumping the terrible contracts they signed last offseason. Last off-season was probably my favorite non-Celtics based event of the NBA season, tonight could be like a mini-version of that. I would figure that Atlanta has to do something. They can't win with that roster, and they can't build with Horford, Smith and Johnson's contracts. Definitely. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Smith moved tonight. Me too. You can't move Johnson, and Horford is more valuable than Smith. This is going to be a pretty exciting night considering how bad the draft is.

Starlin Castro is currently 5th in the majors in SS OPS. Second in average, 5th in OBP, 5th in SLG. Even more encouraging to me, let's say we eventually have to move him to 2nd base ... he'd still be fifth. HE'S ONLY 21. I'm calling it now, 3,000 hits.

I remember public perception of Hanley being down before the trade, like people were saying "the tools are there but not the production." But I just went and looked at his line and he was putting up solid numbers and he was really young at every level. -
I dont think anyone pays for NFL network. And even if they do, it's worth it. That channel is great.

Exactly. Bartman's not the reason they lost the series, but his sudden moment of fame was the first part of a bizarre series of events and inaction and reactions that makes for a good story. Yes, the documentary exists because of what happened to Bartman. It's an interesting story because it's something that just doesn't happen. You keep dancing around the blame issue, first seemingly saying people here were blaming him and now automatically assuming that the documentary is blaming him. You're also inexplicably declaring that this is somehow only interesting if what happened was actually his fault, which doesn't make any sense. Whether you like it or not the story exists because of the timing of what happened and the larger context it happened in. It doesn't hinge on whether or not anything was actually his fault. I'm not dancing around the blame issue at all. Quite the opposite, in fact. I've made it as explicit as possible: without blame, there is no story. Period. It's great you find the story interesting. The fact that the most sad-sack franchise in sports was on the doorstep of the world series, but saw its chances collapse in the same 30-minute period as a fan absentmindedly interjecting him at the worst possible time into their pathetic history is more than enough to qualify for a documentary. EDIT: It's more like Alou going over to make a routine catch and then collapsing and dying on the field.
