Yeah, I meant solely defensive player. I was a huge woodson fan when i was a kid (i can still see that one armed pick perfectly in my mind)

    Well it's a good thing fielding doesn't matter at all, because then they look much further apart than they actually are (which is not to say that Cabrera isn't a clearly better player). barney's mega-shift induced defensive metrics at second base mean just about 0 to me when we're talking about him being a shortstop

    if teo became the first defender to win the award, we might as well just stop caring about it (if anyone still does in the first place.) I know LBs are sort of getting phased out of college football, but god he just seems so forgettable most of the time.

    Yeah, you can have 4 years of this sub .700 OPS second baseman who you can maybe make into a ss for your top 10 in all of baseball pitching prospect or i guess you can have just a measly two years of a same-aged actual SS who posted an 800 ops as a 23-year old and once hit 25 home runs in a season.
