  1. Hopefully he strangles Quade. For all we know Dempster requested Hill instead of Castillo. Dempster isn't the manager.
  2. I'm pretty sure the term is "pulls out", not withdraws.
  3. Because of that, the Bulls are probably the worst matchup for the Heat in the entire league. Our 3 best defensive spots (1 post guy and 2 wings) are their only 3 players worth a damn. Also, we can "rest" Rose when he's on defense and our worst defender (Boozer) can guard a bunch of guys that should be 12th men. Offensively, there is no one to "scare" Boozer. He knows he can take Chris Bosh or whatever other clown they put on him. Having Booz get a nice game going into the series is HUGE as I think he has the chance to have an outstanding series. Rose isn't going to do as well as usual with Wade guarding him, but still should be fine. If the Bulls win 2 of the first 3 games, they will win the series. They are too deep to lose to Miami in a long series. If Miami wins 2 of the first 3, I could see them finishing us in 5.
  4. Assuming he could stay healthy, he would be the 3 hitter this team so desperately needs. However, that is a big assumption. If The Mets would do it as a salary dump, assuming we have the money Id be all for it, considering this division is still winnable. However, considering Beltrans injury history an the fact that hes a rental, I wouldnt give up too much in prospects. Maybe theyd take Byrd and a few solid but not top prospects plus cash. However, if we were to make such a deal, we may end up scrambling for a RF next year, unless theyre content with some kind of Colvin/Johnson platoon. Also, hasn't Carlos Beltran been proven as a contract year monster? Based on what? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/beltrca01.shtml Yeah, I guess it was that awful 1st year in NY and the recent injuries that are tainting my view of him. BTW if we would have traded for him instead of Nomar in 2004, we may have won the title. I loved him then. But now, why trade for him unless we are going to get an extension? And along those lines, would it be wise to invest in Beltran and possibly prevent us from getting Pujols or Prince?

  6. Must be one hell of a graduation.
  7. Traylor dead of a heart attack at 34. OMINOUS COINCIDENCE. Better get busy living Mr. Smith!! Or just die before game 6 so we can move on...
  8. Don't know if this is a planned move, but Mike Leake now pitching in the 9th inning of a tie game for the Reds. Hopefully it is Dusty trying to ruin his career, but for all I know he is being permanently moved to the bullpen. Go Astros. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=310511118
  9. If he doesn't start 80% of the games, Quade needs to be fired on the spot. And then tar and feathered.
  10. 25-10-6 Still better than about 95% of Rondo's playoff games. He's had probably 1 game that bad this postseason. He has never in his career (regular season and playoffs)missed as many shots as Iverson did tonight, and he's turned it over more just once in his career(Bobcats in '09) And Rondo's playing with 3 Hall of Famers and Rose is playing with a SG that wouldn't start on about 20 NBA teams, a black British guy who can't create his own shot, a PF who can't jump/score/defend/do anything, and a Center with basically 0 offensive skills except "tries hard". Switch Rondo and Rose and the Bulls win maybe 40 games this year. God forbid Derrick doesn't care about his shooting percentage because he's carrying a giant pile of [expletive] on his back every single game. On a bad ankle. After 89 games of doing the same thing.

  12. I wish they wouldn't cheapen him like this. I'm pretty sure using Corneilson the first night after the us KILLED OSAMA BIN LADEN isn't cheapening him.
  13. Anyone else hoping for Zach to become good just for the "2 girls, 1 Rosscup" jokes? No? Ok, me either. Just kidding...

    Dempster

Dempster just needs to focus on baseball instead of his stupid Harry Caray impressions and his sick daughter, amirite? In all seriousness, he looks lost out there. Maybe his magical 3 year run as a top line starting pitcher are just over. It's not like anyone expected this much out of him anyway. As long as this putrid run is enough to convince Jimbo (or whoever is the GM at the time) to let him walk after his contract is up, I'm OK with it. Cubs were going to suck this year anyway and Dempster is just adding on.
  15. Exactly. Except it's on an entirely different level of stupidity as the people who say that about Cutler for example It really is dumb. Jurko from ESPN 100 was on this rant yesterday about trading Kane. He's been productive, is still really young, is a face of the franchise, and has been your most consistent performer since he's been here. But, yeah, he's a small guy and a giant douchebag, so let's forget everything that he's done and get rid of him because we lost a series by 1 game that we had no business being in. I hate people.
  16. He's a point a game player, one of the top 5 passers in the league, who hasn't even entered his prime yet. People who are saying that just started watching the Hawks last year. Not saying that as a slam against them because I want the NHL to have as many fans as possible, but his skill-set is extraordinary and under no circumstances do you shop him. And some people were saying he disappears when the going gets tough. What the hell game have they been watching the past few years? He's got over a PPG in the playoffs and, oh yeah, scored the STANLEY CUP WINNING GOAL. People are dumb.
  17. I just hope to God that Ricketts crying poor to the state is just posturing to get them to help with the stadium enhancements and not a sign that the Cubs could be on this list eventually.
  18. That's what she said.
  19. Ha, also 3-3 with 2 2B. Maybe he can bat 3rd when he starts for the Cubs this weekend.
  20. Feel free to post more provocative pictures than the one in this Yahoo story http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Tony-LaRussa-8217-s-daughter-is-an-Oakland-Raid?urn=nfl-wp1180
  21. Small meaning 27th largest metro area in the US. Like for instance, I used to live in Baltimore, which has about 700K more in its metro and has been around just as long, and they don't have nearly as many metro-exclusive chains as Cincinnati has. well....that's...because...it's......baltimore.... Baltimore is 100 times better than Cincinnati. That's...because...it's...Cincinnati Touche
