  1. Shane does have 9 in the minors. So he has one open slot. But Shane would say something if he didn't want to pick. So, does he know that we have started the minor league draft?
  2. I assume that if a player is selected in both drafts, then the major league draft would take precedence.
  3. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? When my computer turns off due to inactivity in order to save energy, I automatically get taken off autopilot. So I have found autopilot works, if I am away from the computer for a short time, but overnight...no.
  4. Once Roadkill's play-offs start, you can't make any additions to your team. So this is not an issue. If a player gets a few AB's in September, then they are available for everyone in the following Roadkill March draft.
  5. These are rules I can live with, but they are different than what I thought. So I could pick up a player in the major league draft and then place him in the minors to start the year?
  6. Sounds like Karen is having a good time 8-)
  7. I also do not want to change the rules n the middle of the draft. We can always argue the changes to be made in next year's draft later.
  8. I believe this is correct. I remember something similar happening in the same season Chris Sale was drafted. He was drafted in June...was in the majors shortly thereafter and then was claimed on waivers that same season. As Tim alluded to, that would be me. I don't mind if we are changing the rules, though I don't know that it matters too much going forward as I believe guys making it up the September they are drafted is going to go away with the new CBA. By the rules we had previously, Martin should belong to Tim. So am I wrong here? My understanding of the rule was that even though Martin played in the majors last year, the answer to the question if Tim could keep him would be determined if he made the cut at the end of spring and was with the Rangers on opening day.
  9. I would say that I like how the rule is now. Let's keep things simple. I do not want endless debates on who is, or is not, eligible. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. So right now, I have drafted Addison Reed. He had a brief showing last spring and looks fairly certain to make the club out of spring training. He may not be the closer, but that is another story. If someone selected him in the prospect draft (he is on BA's top 100 list), then he could claim Addison if he does not make the cut and is sent to the minors. If no one selects him in the prospect draft and he does not make the cut, then he would be put on the waiver wire. I think that is fair and simple.
  10. The rules have been, and should be, if a player is selected in the major league draft, then he must be on the major league squad when it breaks out of spring training. If not, then the team who chose the player will lose him. So it does not matter if a player has any major league experience. Who cares. It all depends on where the player starts the season. In the majors (including on the DL), then he can be selected in the major league draft. Everyone else must be chosen in the minor league draft, but if they are to be put in your minor leagues they have to meet the conditions for being there. So, if Martins starts the year in the majors then Tim gets him. If he starts the year in the minors, then whoever selected him in the minor league draft gets him, or he has to be picked up as a free agent.
  11. I will willing to listen to any offers for my remaining draft picks.
  12. I am creating a thread, so that those who are finished drafting in the major league draft can post here. Then the mods will know who to skip and when.
  13. It looks to me like I remembered the conversation incorrectly. I remembered Truffle's post from that as the end conclusion when the reality is that I had ruled the true prospect guys (Soler, Concepcion) only prospect draft eligible. Now, Martin is in a bit of a middle ground, but I'd say that he falls under the prospect side of things and should be in the prospect draft based on the ruling I gave in the end. So, since it was my mistake and didn't remember my own ruling, I'll just drop him and lose that pick. bummer Don't give up hope so fast. Is there a chance that he starts the season in the majors? If so then you can keep him. There's a hope. But Washington has already come out and said that they're sending him to the minors. That would be a pretty good indicator of their intentions.

  15. eh, it's kinda late to make a major rule change like that. you would have issues with daily lineup changes, teams racking up points by using more than 2 RPs, etc. if you force him to just put bard in as a reliever and get the points he gets as a starter, you're making him go w/ only 1 RP for at least a day, which isn't fair. the best way to fix it is to just make him eligible as a SP. I agree with Adam. Use Juan's old rule. If it is clear that someone is a starter at the beginning of the season, then use your commish powers and make him one. I may have the same issue with Chapman.
  16. Those of us who need more than two prospects could burn a waiver wire pick, or wait a week and pick up the player for free.
  17. it's not like the second one would make people go slower in the major league draft. also, isn't shane getting married in a few days? i don't know if he's going on honeymoon right after but at least for a few days he's presumably not going to be participating (unless he wants it to be a very short marriage haha) Shane needs to get his priorities straight. What is more important; fantasy baseball or his marriage?
  18. I can wait. Just wanted to make sure we had both drafts completed before the season started.
  19. I am wondering....why do we have to wait until the major league portion of the draft is over, before we start the minor league draft? Couldn't we start the minor league draft now? It would give us a better chance of finishing both before the seasoin starts? Thoughts?
  20. From CBS sports - of course they are citing Gammons http://eye-on-baseball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22297882/35132106
  21. It looks like Juan's post got mixed in with mine.
  22. Confused. Did you want to trade picks/prospects for new players? Or were you wanting to trade some of your players for picks/prospects? I want to add depth so I am open to either. For instance, I might trade Carlos Santana for some combination of players, prospects and picks.
