  1. 166/180. I can't believe I forgot Dawson, Juan Pierre, and Jose Hernandez.
  2. I thought they just pulled Thome back so Pierre could lay down the bunt. I think he is still available.
  3. Did Chip call that a base hit? WTF is he thinking? And I think Casilla had to go back and tag up, he was off the bag too much. Awful baserunning.
  4. Wow, Carlos Gomez came in for Kubel in the 8th as a defensive replacement and ends up getting an AB in a game winning situation. That's awful by Gardenhire.
  5. HE JUST WINS I don't know how people can criticize a QB who has 5 TD's, no picks and has led his team to a 4-0 record. Because there have been implications from certain people that Kyle Orton being 4-0 somehow makes him better than a 3-1 Jay Cutler. You know, people who actually think QB wins is a good stat to judge a quarterback.-
  6. Seriously?
  7. They don't seem to care right now...Orton has proven capable enough to run their offense it seems. I bet most would tell you they'd rather have Orton than Cutler. Cutler has been awesome the last 3 games, but he's had 3 game stretches of awesomeness in the past only to see a leveling off. I think Cutler is legit and what he shows is an improvement over last year, but the jury is still out a bit. The jury is not still out at all. Especially not within the context of comparing him to Orton. Anyone who says that they would rather have Orton than Cutler is just a flat out football [expletive]. If anyone watched the Broncos game today, they would see good ol' Kyle missing targets and overthrowing the deep ball as he has done throughout his career. His touchdown pass today was completely because of Marshall. Half his yards throwing this year are after the catch it seems. Just look at the Stokely play from week 1. Anyway, Cutler is awesome and anyone with a gripe about him this year is just grasping at straws. 7 TD'S 1 INT and 2 4th quarter comebacks the last 3 weeks. Thanks, I'll take that any year.
  8. Giordano was a confusing type of player. From my observations, he was unbelievably fast but not necessarily as quick. He was a big hitter but I don't remember him being a good safety against either the pass or the run (although not absolutely awful at either). He was a good special teams player. He's the type of safety who will really impress on certain plays but doesn't really hold up to scrutiny over a full game. Some people really liked him as a Colt though and couldn't understand why he kept falling further down the depth chart each year so there are definitely differing opinions about him out there. Thanks. It sounds like he should be an improvement over what we have now at the backup safety spots, so that's a plus. He's also the guy who caught and tackled Devin Hester in the end zone after his Opening kickoff return in the Super Bowl.
  9. I'm guessing Mike and Mike would probably trade him straight up for Juan Pierre and his no strikeout, sparkplug ass. Afterall, he did save the Dodgers this year while Manny was out. Mark Reynolds has 43 HR's and a .919 OPS. He is a damn productive player and I'd take him and his strikeouts on my team any day of the week.
  10. OMG I love Gus Johnson. Who else would be suitable to call that ending? Unreal.
  11. For whatever it's worth. Looks pretty exaggerated to me. i'm sure the little troll Sullivan will spin it to make Zambrano look like a monster.
  12. Nats lead the Cards 2-1 after 7. Lannan has looked really good and only has 79 pitches thru 7.
  13. I'm not gunna lie. If the Cubs sweep the Mets and the Giants sweep the Rockies( Very possible with the pitching matchups and the Giants home record), I will be right back on the bandwagon. the Cubs would be 3 out in the loss column behind both Colorado and the Giants with 4 games against the Giants remaining. Of course, this is very unlikely to happen, but hey, what the hell? I might as well have some hope.
  14. Carol Slezak is a raging moron and I have no clue how the hell she still has a job spewing all the dumb crap she's been spewing over the years.
  15. OK, so someone called the Boers and Bernstein show today to talk about the expected lines of the Cubs hitters and the bad luck that a couple of them have had. Bernstein seemed intrigued, but Boers chalked it up to more excuse making by the Cubs and their fans. He didn't seem to understand the concept. Anyway, I was wondering if it was someone on this board that made that call.
  16. On a lighter note, Heath Bell had some quote of the year material after the game.
  17. I can't believe Heath Bell just blew this save and gave up a walk off to Colby Rasmus. You can bet your bottom dollar that if he gets a save chance against us, he's going to strike out the side. This is getting really aggravating watching them come back in the 9th inning time after time. The Dodgers better not lay down this week. The Cards don't play many more challenging games, and they need to start losing the ones they do play.
  18. So in the final 49 days of the regular season, the Cubs will play 47 games with only 3 more off days. I don't think I like that very much.
  19. I don't think you know what Crapshoot means.
  20. Rich Harden has retired 28 straight batters at Wrigley Field.
  21. You can't argue with Peavy ... he's proven. Rios is definitely a risky move, IMO. I'm surprised the posters on WSI and Soxtalk aren't talking more about the risk. They are almost universally hailing Kenny for this. Really? REALLY?! Yea, you're really not going to get unbiased analysis from the posters on those sites. They pretty much worship the ground Kenny Williams walks on. He could sign Neifi Perez to a 5 year 50 million dollar contract and they'll find a way to praise him for it.(And so will the Chicago media)
  22. Wow, 6 years and 60 million dollars remaining on his contract. He has a .317 OBP and a .744 OPS this year. He's been better in the past but I really don't like this move for the Sox. Of course, Kenny Williams will be hailed for such a "balls out" move by the slobbering Chicago media, even though he's locked up at least 116 million dollars in 2 questionable moves.
  23. That just made Braun seem like a bigger douche than I already thought he was, and I didn't think that was possible. Oh, and the Dempster pitch didn't even hit him, yet the Brewers launched an investigation.
