    Yep, but likely by the MLB and not directly by the BoSox. My understanding is sales from merchandise belongs to the MLB, not the specific teams, and the proceeds from all merchandise is split evenly among all teams. Really? I actually did not know that. So Boston got a percentage of all those L.A. Manny jerseys?

Nice general statement with absolutely nothing to back it up. Why would getting rid of a defensively able SS be a positive for the Pirates? You act like they could just trade him for equal or better value and instantly sign a better player. This isn't Xbox.

    yes you're right. it's gotta be either the cardinals (they got greene!), astros (they still have towles) or padres (peavy!) no but seriously, who in the nl has less flaws than the cubs? the nl is still really weak. i don't see who else is better than them right now. both the mets and phillies rotations look pretty weak Wow, what a clever joke you made with meph and khalil greene. no one has ever made that joke on here before. you are so original.

    Dexter, why are you so annoying? And I'm sorry, but I totally agree with scarey's simple point that I prefer a middle of the order bat to drive in runs, and not leave it up to the guy behind him. I realize the point of any AB is to not record an out, I really do. But there's also a difference between a .230/.330 hitter and a .280/.330 hitter. There just is.

    Whichever team gets Teixeira (Anaheim or Boston) will probably be my favorite for the AL WS representative next year. From the NL, I dont know how anyone can say the Mets are a favorite of anything, besides most likely to fade away. I'd have to go with either the Cubs or the Phillies at this point. Anyone going to say the Rays?

    Any of us will gladly answer any of your questions about the sport, no matter how dumb of a question you think it is. Hockey isn't a sport you can be completely entertained by unless you know the rules. I feel like I'm a Mormon going door-to-door here, I'll convert anyone!! If anything its encouraging, since you're apparently so passionate about the game. It's a good sign!
