  1. It seems important that we convert this PP, since we're 0-4, have a 20% something average, and it's a tie game. Get it done!
  2. One thing thats drawn me to the Hawks is they seem to be an up and coming team. I feel like I'm kind of getting in (close to) the ground floor here, if I really make an effort to educate myself about the team, and sport.
  3. If you have any hockey questions, it's best to ask here... we have some great hockey people here in Kujay, Kyle, Anze, NewUserName, nilo... and not to toot my own horn, but I know my fair share as well. I hope we convert on EVERY PP. Powerplays late in the game become even that more crucial (especially when losing, obviously). Chicago is 8th in the NHL in PP conversion % at 22.4% which is very good... they have a chance to add a goal every game on the PP with those averages. Thanks for offering! I might be hanging around the game threads a little more in the future.
  4. I dont know what the hell Im talking about with hockey, but that power play looked really lackadaisical.
  5. This is the first Hawks game I've watched from the beginning this year. It's hard to follow, not knowing anyone, but I'm going to give it an extended chance. What do you call a successful power play? Should I say I hope we convert this one? lol. Go hawks!
  6. Reading 100 words into the article instead on simply looking at the pictures sure is hard. I freaking hate comments like this. I hear enough smart-howry's at work, I really hate coming home to read this crap on a cubs forum. Cant you people quit being such righteous fiends?
  7. never thought i'd say it, but dexter...is pretty much correct in that last post
  8. great news
  9. what is up with allen's haircut
  10. admittedly, it took me a second to get this post.
  11. Since Hill is pulling an Ankiel in Venezuela, maybe someone should just hand him a bat and see what happens. It'd be cheaper.
  12. Maybe you should've said something along those lines in the original post. Rather than writing off his career. I'd be pretty confident in writing off his career if he completely fails again in 2009. Nice try, though. Actually no it wasnt.
  13. your life is a disgrace This is such an inane insult it doesn't make sense. Thanks for your valuable input.
  14. You guys ready to admit that Hill is going to contribute nothing at all to the 2009 season yet? Hill with Aragua: 19 IP / 19 BB
  15. I'm counting now, for you. This is one.
  16. For all the sanctimonious bitching in this thread, I fail to see anything else of importance on the Cubs discussion page. Great job taking control of threads with your elitist crap then offering up nothing else of importance. Really helps out the forum. And, again, I want to specifically know how many of IMB!'s posts are actually contributing anything other than a look-at-me attitude that annoys the crap out of me. Seriously, how much is it. I want to know.
  17. I can't count the sarcastic statements in this thread on two hands. Again, great post, full of substance. And where did I say anything like that? If anything I made some vague reference to HILL not adjusting to big league hitters..not vice versa.
  18. Knights of Columbus, that hurt. Great contribution to the thread too. Also, glad you could make the assumption that I've only followed the cubs, or more specifically rich hill, since 2007. Would it be better to have a huge freaking internet ego like most of you and just type that I know everything about rich hill, and for that matter, everything?
  19. What a huge contribution to this thread. Good job.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Cedeno is traded and Furcal made a FA target. Hendry has coveted Furcal for a while, and he usually gets the players he wants eventually.
  21. Because a lot of pitchers can have a good half-season before scouting reports come together. You claimed he had one good year. He actually had a couple very good seasons in the minors and a season and a half's worth of good performance at the major league level. It's not like he magically strung together 32 good starts in 2007 after doing nothing of note prior to that. And the point about scouting reports isn't really relevant here. He was very good in 2006 and was able to still pitch well in 2007. His struggles since then have little (if anything) to do with hitters adjusting. It has to do with his sudden inability to consistently find the strikezone. To be completely honest, that IS what I think Rich's problem is - failure to adjustment. With such a limited pitch repertoire, inconsitant pitch location, and questionable mental makeup on the mound....yea....I think it is failure to adjust. And if you disagree with that, instead of arguing over it, Im just curious - What is your opinion on why he fell apart? We can argue over if he's a good pitcher or not endlessly....but why do you think he suddenly collapsed?
  22. You know what? You're right. Touche. And thanks for being the singular member in this entire thread thats contributing anything of worth.
