    There's no way Pie is included for Roberts. No way. If the O's won't do a deal for Roberts w/o Pie they can keep him.

    I was thinking the same thing, except that I thought his arm didnt look particularly strong. Still, I agree that he looked better than advertised/discussed. It's 2B, how strong does it have to be.

    I'm some what happy with my team. I have some obvious moves. My pitching is deep. While my rotation was top heavy last year and I struggled to find those last starts of the week many times getting screwed by the #4 or #5s of a team. I don't think I'll have that problem with: Tim Hudson John Smoltz Jeff Francis Jon Garland Jeremy Guthrie Joe Saunders My offense is decent with Berkman, Cabrera, Renteria, Burrell, Willingham, and Aramis. I hope Suzuki plays like he did when he debuted last year. Same goes for Asdrubal Cabrera whom I'm expecting to be a great sleeper at 2B. I would like to package Aramis to someone for a top pitcher. I'd include Aramis and one of the guys listed above. Any interest let me know.

    This is totally fabricated. I don't think so. And it's not a big deal. But if he kept saying "Colt Brannan" instead of "Colt Brennan," I don't think people would care enough to correct him more than once. No, it's irritating because he's responding to quotes that have Mendenhall spelled correctly. How do you misspell it? BTW, Jake Daniels is great!

    When I first read this article I wrote Gene and told him that Prior, in fact, had been offered a 2 year deal by the Cubs and wondered why he chose not to include that in his article. In fact, he stated they didn't offer him a contract which is technically true, but not really. He wrote me back and this is what he said:

    Blanco seems to hold the ball a long time before he throws it. Kind of reminds me of Dunston with the studder steps before he throws.

    Unless he can prove he's versatile enough to handle SS if needed. Lou mentioned on the broadcast yesterday, that Mike was going to play some SS in upcoming games. Fontenot's bat is better than Cedeno's. Also, right now both of our MI are RH, so having a LH compliment might be preferred. Cedeno has struggled at the plate recently, but I still see him as a better bat then Fontenot. He certainly has more upside then Fontenot. He has more upside but his upside has yet to show up in the major leagues. Not that Fontenot has shown a whole lot. But if neither have options available you have to keep the one w/ more upside.
