He refused to take his position. I can't recall another player ever doing that. Yes, he finally went to left and found out it wasn't so bad. But, a player refusing to go to the position the manager assigned him to offends me.
The Cubs have been afraid to move him out of the leadoff spot since he's been here. They've put up with what looks like a lack of hustle. Of course he expects preferential treatment. He's been getting it. When teams pay that much money,a different set of standards are applied to certain players as long as they perform. You can defend him if you want, but i've always felt he was a primadonna. Remember with Washington when he refused to play left field?
So why was this necessary? It wasn't. Because Soriano was involved I misinterpreted the comments as people defending him as opposed to the actual play.
I have no idea. Cameron did a heck of a job just getting into the vicinity of that ball. It should have been a hit. The ball that almost hit Milton in the face a couple days ago was ruled a double, but Cameron gets that ruled an error. Just another reason why errors are a mostly worthless stat for outfielders. Cameron should have caught it. He got to a ball that most wouldn't of got to, but he still missed it. Giving him an error could be considered as penalizing him for some great range, but it is a play he should have made. Bradleys should have been an error.
Are you talking about Soriano or Fuld? Soriano and Bradley actually So games are being sacrificed if Sam Fuld does not start? No,but Soriano in the lineup when hes not hitting doesn't help
He has definetely been pressing, new team, big contract, slow start, struggling at home, batting 3rd, etc. Going to Pittsburgh and dropping down in the lineup was helpful though.
Wow, Fuld has played in 2 games, how do you know he's not a .550 OPS major league player that pitchers haven't figured out yet? Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 HRs on Opening Day 1994, how did that work out for him? How about staying with the hot bat?
