  1. Questioning the sanity of a man with over 1800 wins as a major league manager?
  2. Running towards second and not setting your feet aren't proper fundamentals. You don't say. I forgot to add the question mark instead of the period
  3. Quick! Someone post their stats over the last [arbitrary period] to justify this! 9-27 during current 8 game hit streak
  4. Tracys 2-2. Back to the 4 hole tomorrow?
  5. Running towards second and not setting your feet aren't proper fundamentals.
  6. Lous the manager damnit and he has over 1800 wins in his career! Although noone in the actual Chicago media has been allowed to question Lous moves since last year when he snapped on a reporter. King Lou?
  7. I switched over to hear what Hawk had to say. He seems to be suggesting that it was a blown call.
  8. So,nobody is allowed to question any of Lou's moves?
  9. Wells is working at a Steve Trachsel pace...
  10. It has been reported in many circles that every single major league clubhouse is more or less a segregated community, with latin players and american players the biggest seperation - and then obviously some black and asian guys. So it's not that hard to imagine that Ramirez and Zambrano head up some little latin group that has taken Castro under their wings, and maybe protected him from some stupid hazing nonsense. That probably would have happened if they were 10 games over. Yeah, but what's "disturbing" about that? The disturbing part is that the finger pointing has started
  11. That makes it poorly constructed. It's not that they put a team of football players out there. It's just not good. They've got no studs, they've got multiple weak spots, they are fairly old in many spots and count on many guys with significant injury issues. It's basically the same team that won just 83 last year despite an an enormous payroll. That's poorly constructed. Winning a game or two more than you lose is not an accomplishment. After 2006 changes were made to win in the short term. (Back-loaded contracts,no trade clauses, overpaying etc.) Its not the best built team, but there is enough talent to win more than they have.
  12. 80-83 wins is unacceptable for the money spent.
  13. Looks like Tracy picked up where Ramirez left off
  14. When Shawon Dunston was a Cub,he hurt his back lifting his child out of the car seat.
  15. The marketing of Wrigley Field goes back to P.K Wrigley in the early fifties. The announcers would refer to the park as the friendly confines, refer to the sunny days and come out to beautiful Wrigley Field. A part of it was probably because of poor teams and the reluctance of the Cubs to spend money. Comparing today's attendance figures with years ago can be misleading. Today tickets are sold ahead of time. The attendance figures today are the number sold, not the number there. Years ago,the Cubs would always have 15,000 general admission tickets available the day of the game. The crowds were often smaller for April,May,September, and weekend games. But weekend games back in the seventies were usually pretty full, sometimes even standing room only.
  16. A .327 OBP and unable to hit lefties sounds like Jacque Jones to me. Yes, I know hes better than JJ. His rbi numbers are low when you look at the number of at bats and the amount of home runs he hits. I feel people are willing to give up way too much for him. Vitters name shouldn't even be mentioned.
  17. The biggest problem was that the team was bad. The Bradley finger pointing escalated in late August when they were around 10 games out. If they were 3 up at the time, nothing would have been said. They needed a scapegoat, and his personality set him up for the role. Who makes the better scapegoat, the hot headed new guy or the happy go lucky left fielder that the team has bent over backward for from day one? I wonder how many of the whispers of Bradley being a disruption came out of left field to deflect attention from others... If they trade him and play well,or keep him and play poorly, it will look like its his fault. If they keep him and play well, all will be forgiven, Winning solves a lot of problems.
  18. Bradley haters are upset that he didn't drive in a run
  19. 5th in the wild card, need some sweeps
  20. If they don't resign Harden, hopefully they don't sign anyone. The class is really weak.
  21. I would gladly take Neifi or Macias over Miles. Thats pretty sad,but true
  22. Dave Rosello was pretty bad,but much, much better than Miles.
  23. Well,Lou kept playing Soriano figuring that his slump would have to end at some point.
  24. Miles really tagged that one(by his standards)...
