  1. I think if he opts out the Yankees let him go just out of spite and having to pay his entire contract when they have him for cheap.
  2. I think Selig knows the potential of Cub fans throwing a huge revolt against him if Cuban is not given a fair shake. I just want him to have a fair and real chance. If he doesnt make the best offer I wont complain.
  3. #3 in all of baseball in fielding %, #8 in range factor, #7 in zone rating. Seriously this is one of the worst articles written the whole year. Not even Skip Bayless would make up such crap. I won't even touch the hitting.
  4. And im curious to how HDnet could spin things forward too. In 1999-2000 the Maverics ranked 23rd in the NBA in value and revenue (167 Million / 59.7 in revenue). In 2006-2007 the Maverics ranked 3rd in the NBA in value in $463 Million, while I cant find revenue. Mark Cuban the fan outweighs Mark Cuban the business man in the eyes of the media, and to a degree that we underestimate how good of a business man he really is.
  5. As much as I would love to have ARod, I can't believe the Cubs would really be players in the ARod sweepstakes regardless of who the new owner might be (okay, maybe Cuban might go after him, but I don't think Cuban will be the new owner). I don't think they need any more pitching, but they do need to figure out what to do on offense. I think the key is going to be finding out if Pie can hit major league pitching well enough to play everyday. Obviously, he looked terrible in very limited at bats. I think Murton can be the everyday RF, but will he be given that chance? Another important issue that needs to be addressed is convincing Soriano to bat in the middle of the lineup. A deal for Renteria would solidify the lineup. Unless Arod would be willing to take a 1 year deal while waiting for ownership to be decided :-).
  6. I wonder how a yankee loss and Torre being fired would affect Arod?
  7. What? So soon? His days as a prospect are numbered then too. Not if he can play center. His bat would play at either position. Exactly, his bat is as valuable at CF. But then his days in the organization might be numbered. Again, this isn't 100% but it's just the impression I've gotten - he was listed as a CF when he was called up (and is listed as an OF on the 40-man) and he played CF the last 2 weeks at Iowa when there were other CF options and no 2B options with the I-Cubs. Why was he switched in the first place? Was he pretty rough defensively? Yeah - his range is good but his glovework and footwork is horrible. It was bad enough that the Cubs were getting him OF time to make him a utility guy but now he might be sticking in the OF (he has the range, arm and speed to stick in CF if he can learn the position). Think B.J. Upton. but not as good. We can reunite Eric with Corey for Tejada. Of course Corey has to resign with Baltimore, although I doubt he will be demanding a huge contract.
  8. Tom Glavine amongst others I can't think of this early in the morning.
  9. My God, what the hell is going on out there? UCLA is playing a third string, walk-on redshirt freshman QB with backup RBs. Still no reason to be losing. UCLA should just turn down any bowl gmae after that.
  10. USF and Ohio State might very possibly not lose. Either of those clubs could/should be #1 if LSU goes on to lose. Who else could it be? Cal
  11. wow, great job by Harbaugh. That makes today a little better.
  12. If UCLA lets ND win a game, I will not be happy.
  13. Nice play by Tebow. Is baseball still on?
  14. I hate sports. all sports.
  15. As much as I hate Ozzie, he really is good for a couple of quotes.
  16. I don't want to start a new Arod thread, but he is now 0-6 and the Yankees are down 0-2. This is playing out just how all of us want. An 0-for day on Sunday coupled with a Yankees loss would be golden. Hopefully they boo him off the field to a degree where he opts out right a way
  17. I past two seasons I thought we dodged a bullet with Furcal signing with the Dodgers. The Dodgers would have to eat 40-50% of that contract to make it worth it. His power has died to a point where him and Theriot could have a HR hitting contest with each other. I would rather go for Orlando Cabrera with Brandon Wood waiting in the wings for the Angles.
  18. I would be very happy with that. Murton needs to play some winter ball though. Not sure about Hart as a starter though.
  19. and as competitive as Lilly is you would think he would be better at something like that.
  20. Who gets more manlove on this board, Soto or Derosa?
  21. That was worse than Tom Brady wearing a Yankee hat. At least he is smart enough to like the Cowboys.
  22. And thats going to suck. They need a backup channel to show the other game.
  23. But it didn't matter on that play. He still scored! made no difference, you would have thought he was doing the fireman carry with one of his teammates wathcing him run.
  24. Very cool http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3049388
