If he'd go for it, I'd be in favor. This is where a guy like DeRosa becomes even more valuable. With his versatility, you can sign an OF and keep him to 2nd, or do something like sign Furcal at SS, move Riot to 2B and DeRo to the OF, or if you trade Lee, you can put DeRo at first and upgrade in other places. Wost case scenario, you can start Fontenot at 2B and move DeRo to RF. It's a nice problem to have and you're not handcuffed to find help at any one position. You can upgrade pretty much anywhere and put DeRo in to fix just about any hole. Watching Dunn attempt to stretch and dig any ball out of the dirt would be hilarious.

This number will drop a little bit, but it could involve almost every major conference this time around and a couple of minor ones too. A current +1 fix is not very difficult to accomplish keeping all the bowls the way they are, and even using the current BCS system. you'd have to find a place for the two teams in the current BCS Title Game, since that wouldn't be the title game anymore. In other words, another bowl game would have to be created, or two fewer teams would make bowl games under a +1 system. also, they'll bitch day and night about travel/media issues when you don't know what teams are playing until a week out. Yes, this happens in other sprots all the time, but it'll still come up I'm fine with two fewer teams making the BCS game. I really don't care too much about the 9th & 10th ranked teams when trying to determine a NC. Will someone get screwed, yes. Will the 5th ranked team in the BCS bitch about it, yes. With 4 teams playing in BCS games that count as a semi-final they can make contingency plans to travel the following week. Its not like they don't have a month to figure it all out anyway.

I do like all the hell the BCS is getting right now. The AP awarding a different national champion would be great, and could accomplish a lot.

I don't care if Texas didn't win their conference, they absolutely would belong there ahead of USC. Why USC ahead of Penn State?

Don't bother me with scores, were any of these teams PHYSICAL? my Tandy 3000 is still calculating the GRIT scores The only reason why I get defensive about Alabama, is because everybody assumes Florida is just wasting their time playing the SECCG. I just want people to realize that Alabama is a helluva team, and they were more than luck, they were also outstanding to get to 12-0. As soon as people give Bama the proper respect I will pull back on my fanaticism. Until them you won't convince me Florida is better then Bama. There is no way USC jumps ahead of Texas or OU. One of them will remain ahead. Even if OU wins and Tech loses, and Texas loses to Mizzou, OU will still be ahead of USC. USC has to have Florida lose to FSU, then have Florida beat Bama and Mizzou win the Big 12. Even in that case Bama might still be ahead of USC. They have way to much ground to make up and playing ND will do nothing to help that cause. I think a Texas/OU rematch is more likely than any scenario with USC in the championship game.

The pokes are better than they usually are and OU never seems to play well there. They can beat us. They have a good team with a good offense and they are coming off a bye week. On another note, the Cowboys won't sell individual tickets for the OU/OSU game just to keep OU fans out of the stadium for this game. The only people that will be there will be Cowboy season ticket holders. Unfortunately, they have only sold about 45,000 season tickets. They won't be able to sell out one of the biggest games in their school's history against the only school they really care about beating. They do play great at home, I am just wondering what to expect from OU's defense. They have to be riding very high and very confident. OSU's offense has lost a little fire power since the Texas game, but they are very balanced, and athletic. Its hard to imagine this game not being a sellout, thats very strange.
