  1. I was trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about, thinking he couldn't be seriously talking about that.
  2. I am going to name what I hope to wake up and see as potential replacements for Wade Phillips tomorrow morning: Marty Schottenheimer (#1 Choice) Jason Garrett (last season I was very high on him, my feelings have lessened.) Butch Davis (probably my 2nd choice, but think he is happy in college ball. Still worth a shot being he came from the Cowboys) Bob Stoops (OU is probably a better job than any NFL job, and don't see any reason for him to take the position)
  3. everyone else can stop making jokes now, this one is pretty good This signing just makes no sense at all The NL West is looking reealllllyyyyy weak this season, especially if Manny doesn't re-sign with the Dodgers. The Giants could compete in that division. The DBacks should rebound.
  4. http://chicagocubsonline.com/archives/2008/12/rumorsnews1224.php#more I didn't think of it as tipping your cap as much as I thought of it as the Padres trying to use the media to their advantage to squeeze as much out as possible. I still would not be surprised to see this happen down the road. Peavy holds all the cards, and we do know he really likes the Cubs.
  5. I think people look too much at OPS without looking at how a player got to that number. Why not just look at OBP and Slug% as two different variables? The individual numbers that create OPS are just as important when determining what kind of role a player should serve. I've said this before but I think Dunn can be an asset and a detriment to this team depending on how he is used.
  6. I assume your 4th is the Jays...Marcum will be out the entire season, McGowan is coming off rotator surgery, and Litsch is going to regress significantly. Their rotation is pretty effed until 2010. They are a pitching and defense team who is going to have pretty unspectacular pitching next year. Which is why they should trade Halladay to us!
  7. This is pretty cool, never seen it before today. This list needs to grow. The US Official Bar Program http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_3702785.html
  8. Are they still in the FA Cup? Yeah, 3rd Round starts right after new years. I was still holding out hope in the Champions League. Its possible I guess, just about the biggest blow Arsenal could suffer though.
  9. Cesc is out for 3-4 months. Arsenal's hopes of any trophy this season are just about gone.
  10. If the Cubs were involved Boras would be announcing it everyday trying to drive up the price even more. My guess is that Tex doesn't really want to play in Washington or Baltimore and is using them to drive up the Red Sox's offer.
  11. yeah, 40% looks way too high Where is 40% coming from its 50% damnit :-), plus its better than OU's. Also Jordan Shipley was granted eligible to play next season with a medical 6th year :-). I am hoping he helps to build towards that graduation rate.
  12. No I'm not. The voices in my head are answering. Im here. Good Game so far At this point, it couldn't turn into a bad game. By the way, what happens with the #1 seed if these two teams tie? My head explodes. I have no idea honestly lol. They both have the same record, so I would assume that if one wins next week and one loses, the winner gets the top seed. That really makes my initial question look really dumb. :-)) I'm guessing it would go down to conference record with the Giants being a game up on Carolina in that aspect if they finish with the same record.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3781630 Jack Wilson says the Pirates have to find a way to compete. Getting rid of Jack Wilson would be a start.
  14. I had no idea that Seattle got Freddie Ljungberg. They might be my new favorite team now.
  15. Dunn playing good defense would not add $8million to his yearly demands. He's a great slugger and poor hitter, he would never command $20million a year.
  16. I had a dream last night that Arsene Wenger was taking over the USMNT. Oh well, waking up sucks.
  17. Actually I think I'd rather watch this on TV than attend. Going to hockey games is better than going to, for instance, football games. But I'm looking forward to waking up late on the 1st, then sitting down on my couch with some friends eating, drinking and watching sports all day. Skiing would be a great option though. Early accuweather forecast calls for wind, cold and snow, high around 20, low of 10 I asked this in the Blackhawks thread, but I wonder what the project beer sales are for this game? Its a perfect event for Goldschlager shots though.
  18. Definitely not. He's the definition of untouchable for the O's. If Tampa called and said they would trade David Price straight up for him I am sure the O's would do it.
  19. With the economy down and Americans generally being great value, I think this could be a busy January, and a bloody one for MLS. The Mail On Sunday is a fairly reputable source, especially in the British media world. Thats a really nice list of interest for him.
  20. Not making an out is getting the job done. Welcome to the forum. If all things are equal I would much rather have the guy who puts the ball in play. All things are not equal, ever. There is no need to go into detail, not making an out is the #1 goal of a batter. Ok, then Bradley's OBP beating Dunn's by .050 points works for me too.

  22. Seriously is that all that seperates Tex from Dunn? Horrible reasoning and comparison. Carlos Lee is also a much better player regardless of contract size. Are you going to platton Dunn vs. lefties, and I wouldn't really say he beats up on right handed pitching because that where he is more successful at. Its still pretty much walk or HR from there as well. His splits are still horrible, and his biggest benefit to the Cubs is the "walk". Where do you see that Dunn beats up on righthanded pitching better Bradley when Bradley is .312/.417/.523/.940 vs. righties? Dunn needs to make the transition to the AL starting next season.
  23. The AP could purposely name Texas their NC as a result.
  24. Ok, I hope Bradford and OU win the BCS now, and Bradford rights it into the NFL as probably a top 3 pick next year. Yes, I am cheering for OU to win the NC
  25. Salt Lake is whiteyville. I'm thinking about going to Azteca this year. Anyone ever done it? My old roommate was from Mexico City, and his father played for Pumas. I really can't say too much that is positive about it. We were planning on going, but never made it. He pretty much said that I should not ride the Subway because I am too white and the chances are I would get mugged because of that.
