  1. Am I the only one who thought Oklahoma had chances to win the game last night? Florida won, but I don't have any certain feelings they are the best team in the nation. Sadly Utah never had a chance.
  2. Anyone else ready for some 2009 pre-season polls?
  3. No. I think his name is Jim Anixler. I like that Ricketts is a fan, I'm sure he would put money into the team, but I worry that he is a dumb fan. Dumb Cubs fans have some awful ideas about what this team needs. He seems like the best option at this point anyway. He still sounds more like a business man that a fan which is a good thing. Then again he has to be doing something right to have that net worth.
  4. The question is will Harvin make more money in the NFL than Bush did at USC?
  5. Bob Stoops needs to be fired too.
  6. Too bad Texas didn't do a good enough job vs. OSU because there is no way they would vote Utah. This is true, but the AP can still make a lot of noise and vote UT, USC, or Utah just for the hell of it.
  7. It didn't look as bad during the replay.
  8. Right now it looks like the AP has free reign to name whoever they want as their National Champion.
  9. I am very thankful Iowa made that field goal keeping Penn St. out of this game, that would have been bad to watch.
  10. That is a perfect example of how to telegraph a pass. Nice job Tebow.
  11. it was PA, but damn that was a good hit.
  12. Davis is a first round draft pick, probably in the top 15. Wow, really? http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php #15 to the Pats in this one. Aka, you'll see him in a Pro Bowl in two years. Nice, where would Benn be if he were elligible to come out? I think he'll be top 15 next year. This year, I'd take him after Crabtree but before Maclin. Kinda what I figured. Crabtree is a stud. I have a hard time believing that Bradford will fall to #9 overall.
  13. I really hate Chris Rose. How does he have a job?
  14. :( That...is beyond depressing. He needs to become a minority owner with whoever wins the bid.
  15. Williams is going to be a huge steal. He may go in the 2nd, but he should be ready to step in a be a slot WR for a lot of teams, almost right away. He's the kind of player that could really benefit from the Combine too.
  16. nope, i agreed with you on that Muschamp is good.
  17. Why is this game on tonight. This is a crap game that should have been played before Jan. 2. Playing on New Year's Day used to actually mean something. Its like the Tuesday night games that drive me nuts.
  18. You shouldn't be content with just making the postseason. The last 2 seasons were abysmal failures. Getting swept in the NLCS by 2 teams that didn't even make it to the World Series is embarassing. So why are you not talking about firing Piniella as well?
  19. It seems like every 2-3 months we get one of these posts.
  20. Was Mitch the guy asking why Sheets hasn't gotten an offer or the guy pointing out that he was injured? I'd say it's pretty obvious that in this dead market with tons of supply out and virtually no demand, oft-injured pitchers like Sheets who ended the season injured would have a hard time getting offers. Why would somebody be perplexed about Sheets not getting offers? I have no problem with Mitch being this straight forward, and he is right. The other guy was being an idiot for asking the same question, when the answer is very simple. I don't want a 5 minute conversation about going back and forth about crap that doesn't matter. Sheets will get a contract, but at the value teams want to pay him. Offers right now are for players with higher market value, or role players to fill the back end of the roster.
  21. Disagree. It's the players responsibility to make sure what he's taking is legit. Trainers should be supplying all the supplements directly to players and responsible for knowing what is legal and not.
  22. To be fair, Cosby dove into the endzone when he scored. I know for a fact that a dive into the endzone now results into an excessive celebration penalty. And yes, I think that rule is a complete joke. That game was pretty dull and listless for the first three quarters but the 4th quarter was great. I wouldn't look at it as the Big Ten doing 'better than expected' but the Big 12 is doing much worse than expected. Outside of Kansas, they've struggled in all of their bowls. Texas looked real average on offense for most of the game and gave up 21 points to an Ohio State team that struggled to score any points against the two legitimate teams they played this year. Missouri was fortunate that Northwestern kicked to Macklin going into halftime, Texas Tech was rolled by Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State gave up a boatload to Oregon. I think it's safe to admit that there really is no clear-cut favorite for the best conference in the land. I'm really pulling for the Sooners on Thursday, but today's 'performance' by Texas is making me a little worried about that one. The play calling for Texas sucked last night for a big portion of the game. McCoy's running ability really helped to stretch the defense the entire season, yet we saw none of that the first half. The hurry up was critical towards Texas winning the game, but they still didn't stretch the field like they have this year and were pretty much counting on the receivers to net a bunch of YAC. I'm happy to see Cosby go out on a high note. He was the MVP last night, not McCoy.
  23. Nice goal by Robben today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUK8WgWvgN0
