  1. It was also very quick when no one really knew it was coming.
  2. I'm guessing it will pick up steam in a couple of days.
  3. or Cruz could've just accepted arbitration. I don't feel sorry. he took the gamble and lost. he can just blame and fire his agent.
  4. I think prospects need to go into a draft somehow either a seperate draft or all together at the beginning of the season. Its better than them randomly appearing where half the people in the league don't know about it, and everything being based on waiver order at the time they are randomly inserted.
  5. That would be very nice! thanks for placing a nice jinx on the draft today :-)
  6. I disagree on the draft order but agree on the number of rounds. Using waivers isn't much different from a draft anyway. We'll go three rounds. You can always pass. What is the reason to wait until after the major league draft? Maybe others wouldn't agree, but I view getting the best Free Agent and the best minor leaguer added to the database will only fuel the dumping of teams that are out of contention late in the season. By reversing the waiver order, you aren't giving the worst team in the league that extra incentive to dump the team. this concerns me too but I think there are other ways to remedy the situation - one is to use standings at the trade deadline for the draft order. Another would be to correlate keeper points to wins . . . this may further imbalance the league though. In the new league, I plan to correlate budget to wins. Maybe we could council Meph to create a BCS like program to determine the draft order.
  7. I would like a separate draft too.
  8. And we got our backup list posted on the board in-case disaster strikes :-).
  9. I'm going to be pissed the O's don't start the season with Wieters. Right now I am at: Lee - 597 Utley - 482.2 Fuku - Exempt Butler - Exempt Dice K - 2nd Exempt Kuroda - Exempt Cliff Lee - 693.0 Owings - 2nd Exempt Bedard - 191 Total = 1963.2 Minors Max Ramirez Matt Wieters Chris Coghlan Michael Burgess Drew Stubbs Jeremy Hellickson David Price Philip Humber Thomas Diamond Sean Doolittle
  10. I made Mexican fans who had the temerity to sit in the US supporter sections leave. It was an unbelievably awesome game experience. The US fans were loud and great... singing all the time and mocking where appropriate. I don't know if you guys saw on tv, but after the game, the entire team came over to the supporter area. They were riling us up, thanking us and they threw their shirts into the stands... awesome. Awesome, it looked like a great crowd.
  11. WTF, can't we at least host El Salvador or T&T in Dallas. I am pretty sure we can outnumber their supporters down here.
  12. I'm in the belief that they need TO. He was too big of a factor in the games that they actually played well and dominated and I agree on Crayton as well. I still believe that the OLine was the biggest problem last season.
  13. Oh, much love. I thought we were fantastic in the 1st. The wind probably had a bigger affect on the 2nd half than anything else. I rated them on the same scale I rate my peeps at work: 5 is average, anything above 7 is very good. I would have been interested to see this game played in neutral conditions. I think it could have been more lopsided. Mexico isn't very good, and without Vela, Guardado, Magdallon, etc...they're flat bad. The more I think about it, this could be the team that could actually win in Azteca. I won't get my hopes up, but probably the best chance ever.
  14. So when I wake up tomorrow will Sven still be the coach at Mexico?
  15. yes. First exemption used after year 1, 2nd after year 2, 3rd after year 3.
  16. No veterans committee! I'm happy with the performance, actually I'm surprised the weather didn't play more of a role than it did. Either that or the players played through it very well. Either way i am half way loaded and happy. Hopefully this will put the US in position to have 9 points after 3 matches.
  17. Yes, when talking about Sanchez I wish we had the ability to use "Dodger Blues" terms to describe him.
  18. Everyone should supersize their soccer sigs to piss everyone else off today.
  19. Money and seasoning for your team. There aren't many meaningful international competitions so in the interest of keeping your core players cohesive and sharp as a unit, you schedule exhibitions against other countries. Lots of money is generated as well as good matchups. I think its the only way Maradona is legally allowed into another country as well.
  20. I don't like it either. Its going to help mexico to slow the US down. Hopefully they are sloppy and not prepared.
  21. Looking at the weather report, I would not be suprised to see it get pushed back 30 minutes or more if the thunderstorm reports do happen from 4-6.
  22. The weather is going to suck tonight. Wind in the 30's, scattered thunderstorms, rain. The worst part of the day is supposed to be from 4-6 in Columbus too.
  23. the new ones should come out in about a year For $50 you can have it customized...i already have a dempsey kit...who should I get next? For some reason I'm leaning either Jozy or Torres. i got jozy away for xmas I think that's the way to go. Tomorrow's game looks like it's going to be played in a hurricane. I can't wait. I head out tomorrow morning at around 7:00 AM. Remember to make a Mexican boy cry for me. Its like a hurricane here tonight. 70+ MPH winds, tornado sirens going off, golf ball sized hail being reported. Its freaking nasty. Anyways yes, make a mexican boy cry please.
