  1. They made a good point this morning on Sports Reporters. This is going to be the last draft before the new CBA, and the expectations are the rookie salary cap is going to be going down a lot. This could prompt a lot of players to go pro who are on the fence. Plus there is always the potential of a work stoppage, though I doubt that will happen. Yeah, I've been thinking about a while as it pertains to Jimmy. Bradford leaving probably enhances the chances that Clausen would stay, so I'm glad Bradford decided to go. I don't think it matters that much as I think Clausen would go before Bradford. It all depends on the order. I wonder if the Raiders would want him with Russell still on the books, and that would open up a chance for him to go home to CA. Still its the Raiders, and I would hate to get drafted by them even if I grew up loving them.

  3. Romo is having the best half of the year for him so far. He is playing great right now.
  4. I benched Vernon Davis and the Steelers defense, they combined for 47 points #-o
  5. I made this comment last week. If he actually tried and worked as hard as other players do who knows how good he could have been.
  6. Proof the system is seriously screwed up. No offense, but Iowa should not be ranked any higher than 4 on any polls and anyone giving them a #1 vote probably should not be allowed to vote at this point in the season.
  7. He seems to like playing in the big games. Are you watching the game? I'm only seeing the gamecast, but it seems to be a wide open attacking game looking at the stats. Arsenal grab a quick lead. I'm too lazy to find the stream everyone is watching on BigSoccer. I'm just following the game thread while I play dinosaurs with my daughter. Arsenal are such a joy to watch. Very nice draw for Fulham. I hope Spector plays well today even though I want Arsenal to win. His development over the next 9 months could be huge. If Arsenal can keep this team together for the next 3-5 years its going to be great to watch. We will hear the Cesc rumors to Barca every summer till it actually happens, but Barca are not the pricks that Real are and they seem happy as long as he is happy. Plus playing for Wenger will only make him that much better for the inevitable return to the Nou Camp. Gallas with a nice goal off a corner, 2-0 now.

  9. And a midfield with their Captain on the sidelines. I really like Benayoun too. Spector getting the start today vs. Arsenal. Arsenal need the win today and they will be able to keep pace with Chelsea. Right now I think the league is going to come down to those two.
  10. Lets pretend these 4 teams go undefeated, where do you rank them: Boise State TCU Iowa Cincinnati
  11. And also thank you for letting us score 35 points at halftime.
  12. Thank you Mizzou for letting McCoy back into the Heisman race.
  13. Good start for Texas. If Mizzou plans on letting McCoy throw to Shipley whenever they want its going to be a very long game for them.
  14. Awesome, beat the mormons!
  15. agreed 100 percent. alabama is lucky they have a terrible schedule, or they'd be a 3 or 4 loss team Definitely. Alabama's offense is so horrible outside of the running game. If Florida's D is healthy they can stop the run, so can Texas should Bama manage to beat Florida.
  16. They haven't moved the ball with any consistency outside of the Wildcat formation. Alabama vs Texas would be a very interesting matchup. The Texas run defense is one of the best in the country and very fast. Alabama defense is great and gives up very few TD's.
  17. Corso talking about Arkansas said they "Shot their wad" last week. Herbstreit's reaction was great.
  18. Is anyone else looking forward to the TCU/BYU game today?
  19. Definitely time to start planning to play without him. One setback and he'll absolutely be out for the World Cup. Does anyone really feel that comfortable with a Boca/DeMerit center pairing? Because I don't. I hope Castillo is ready to play, not center just in general.
  20. I'm hoping Texas can have another 1st half against Mizzou like they did last season.
  21. I completely agree that the difference in production should be looked at more in depth - and I think most, if not all, teams will - but they're likely to play a factor, just like Bradford's injury this season will even if it is fully healed by the combine. Production shouldn't be the most important factor, but it will be a factor. Sure it'll be a factor and it's probably the single biggest reason Clausen could return in '10. But I doubt it, since he's likely to be one of the first 2 QBs taken and a top 5 pick. But I have trouble with the idea that production as a freshman on a crap team has the same importance as 2 injuries, one requiring significant surgery, to the throwing shoulder of a QB. Seems that has a much bigger impact on draft status, or should, imo. It might just be me, but Clausen comes across as a spoiled rich white douche. It doesn't have a whole lot of relavance towards anything, maybe potential work ethic. I just don't like the guy. With that said he does have a great arm, and looks like he can make all the throws. He just needs to be able to run a NFL offense and read a much faster defense.
  22. who is the fastest guy in the draft? Noel Devine could be a top 5 pick after all.
  23. I actually would liken Bradford to Sanchez. Both are cerebral QBs who don't have great arms but came up in elite BCS programs. Mallett likely wouldn't have the quick success Flacco did, but those seem like good comparisons. How about Romo as a comp for Locker? Or a better version of Romo? Or maybe McNabb? Sanchez has a better skill set than Bradford though. Better arm than Bradford. I don't like the Rothlisberger comp but Locker is more Rothlisberger than Romo. McNabb is interesting though... I really liked Pike (as a first rounder, not a high first rounder) before the injury. Yeah, now that I think about it more, I see more McNabb than Romo. Big, strong and mobile with a good arm and a tendency to throw a few picks, but not to a detrimental point (assuming his junior year is more accurate than his freshman year). As for the Sanchez/Bradford debate, I apparently haven't seen enough of Bradford because I didn't think his arm was as weak as y'all seem to think. It doesn't matter who the better prospect is if you are drafted by the Raiders.
  24. bingo Logic: failing the Cubs organization since 1908. But it can make a difference, and enough of one to where if you can sign one of the better coaches in the game you go ahead and do it. Fans expect more out of him than the organization does.
  25. Also OU currently has a lot of JR's and SR's on the team that could potentially go to the NFL (including Murray, Brown, Browles, McCoy, Reynolds). We really don't have any clue as to who could declare, but that will have a large impact on Bradford if he is currently leaning towards staying one more year.
