  1. Not much of one. I think the Big 10 is ideal if they are looking, but there are a lot of cons in doing so. Maybe more of a contengency plan should the #$@* hit the fan.
  2. Nice to see them make it through. Chamakh is heading to Arsenal in the worst kept secert of this half of the season. They need some depth up front incase its too windy and van Persie gets injured again next season, now need to shore up another 2 defenders, and a true #1 keeper.
  3. Academics. Exactly what I have heard. SEC doesn't want to have to increase academic standards.
  4. Looks like Missouri had a 0.65 ERA (19 ER in 264 IP) in 1964. Damn
  5. The UT team era is down to 2.17, .83 better than anyone else in the country. I wonder what the record is for an entire season.
  6. This! And during football season any player who tackles a fan should get a bonus.
  7. Buffon open to coming to the EPL. Hope Wenger is listening.
  8. You run from the police what do you expect. They are not going to handle those cases different from any other ones. Yeah it's not funny when little punks think they are cool by running on the field. And they WILL NOT win.
  9. i ask him what i ask the skateboard guys, how do you practice that [expletive] without getting killed at least once? I have no idea, and with that costume on as well. Can't believe there was no padding to the left or right of the ladder.
  10. I don't think it's a rivalry thing. Last time around the congressman in Texas sort of handcuffed A&M to UT and made them a package deal to the Big 12. Texas was ready to move on without them. Yeah its not the rivalry game UT/OU is. If things were to blow up I think Texas would prefer the Big 10 over everyone. Then the Pac 10 after that. From what I have read they don't care for the SEC and the SEC doesn't want Texas as they would want higher academics standards from the other schools.
  11. I'm sure this is posted somewhere else on here, but holy @#$%. http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/tech/2010/05/02/levs.viral.05.02.cnn
  12. Is it my imagination, or was Dempsey doing the Soriano "you don't see me" motion after the goal? Pretty much, except all I could see was the big ass bandage on his hand. Still Deuce is the man!
  13. I don't understand how a team with such good hitting and starting pitching can be sub .500. That good hitting goes away mysteriously when there are RISP. And the bullpen is bad enough to negate the good starting pitching. By simply sending Shark to the minors this team is automatically better by 5+ games. I am absolutely loving what Geo has done so far to start the season.
  14. I dont know if its any more or less likely than the chances that Theriot continues to produce at his current pace (very unlikely). I tend to think he'd be at least as good offensively and he would be an upgrade defensively. I think you're overstating the odds of a player that young and that inexperienced being able to come up and produce right away in the bigs. It would obviously be fantastic if he did come out and out produce guys like Theriot, but odds are he probably wouldn't even match typical Theriot production for most of the season, if at all this year. Actually he has to outproduce the Font/Baker combo since Theriot would just move over.
  15. Texas is now up to 19 straight wins and 16 in the Big 12. A win today will give them them the longest Big 12 winning streak ever.
  16. Wouldn't Strasburg make the Nationals better right now?
  17. Soriano has handled Chicago as well as as anyone ever has. He takes his lumps and still goes out with a great demeanor. Interacts with the left field bleachers on the same day he is boo'd back to the bench. I'm sure that going home to a pile of money and naked women helps, but the guy "gets it". Agreed 100%. He seems to be nothing but a positive in the clubhouse and with fan interaction. I've heard from quite a few people that he is the friendliest Cub to meet in person, which makes what he has to often put up with from the fans that much worse. This is a really good point considering all the crap he has taken. Just a guess, but I don't think the fans were any rougher on Bradley than they were on Soriano. Despite his awful contract he seems like a great guy.
  18. Yeah thats a very random collection of schools for a conference that has had the impression of being very picky in the past. Would be interesting to see the chain reaction that would follow after that.
  19. tommy hanson turned 23 in august last year and had 2 years of full-season ball under his belt, including spending most of the previous year at AA. starlin castro just turned 20 a month ago and has played only 1 year of full-season ball, most of which was spent in A ball. hanson starting the year in AAA was in large part a financial decision; starting castro in AA has a lot more to do with not rushing the player and hurting his development. Yes but it seems to be that Castro is ready to join the big leagues. He showed it in ST and has shown it in the minors. I don't think he can really develop any more down there. He has maxed out the development he could get in the minors. Please explain how he's maxed out in development in the minors. That's ridiculous. The point is that having Castro in the big leages makes the Cubs better. Is he just one game better? Maybe, but it is the GMs responsibility to make every move that he can to bring a team closer to a World Series (within financial reason). Mark Prior 2003
  20. Yeah, this weekend will decide the title. I think both Man U and Chelsea win at home next weekend so if Chelsea wins beats Liverpool, the title is basically theirs. Its tough to root for your team to lose, but I would much rather Chelsea win the title over United. So I wont be all that upset if Liverpool lose. They should be able to get a point out of Hull that last week to stay ahead of Everton for the final Europa league spot so a loss wouldnt hurt them that much. Picking between those two is like asking me which nut I want to be kicked in. Guess I will go with Chelsea to win it.
  21. Herschel Sims commits to Oklahoma State. Nice get for them. 2 of the big 4 RB coming out of have committed, though the biggest 2 have yet to decide.
  22. Klinsmann will be working ESPN too for the WC. More of him and less of Lalas would be a nice thing.
  23. Dempsey won't miss the final cause of the yellow card today will he?
  24. I don't want to jinx Fulham, but they almost seem like a team of destany.
