  1. They want the NY/NJ market, the largest in the country. How is that dumb? Not so sure its the largest college football market in the world though. You could argue UConn is a better pick than Rutgers. Not really. There are no UConn fans. Rutgers isn't huge, but it's bigger. 10 years ago they were 1-AA in football, and have made huge progress over that time. From an Athletic Department standpoint I would take UConn and think they will be consistently better than Rutgers in football over the next decade. Rutgers has a bigger student base though.

  3. Been reading orangebloods for a couple of years. The main guy from the site is pretty much dead on all of the time.
  4. You're going to have to go into more detail about why they wouldn't go then, because we're 30 pages in to debating that viability, and "they won't go" isn't going to be sufficient for a lot of people following the situation. Because Texas is just going to follow where its big money rivals go. Exactly. I'm glad someone around here finally sees the light, even if he's just being a sarcastic jackass. Football money isn't the only reason, but it's a huge moneymaker for the schools, and therefore must be a huge consideration. Texas is a very good academic and athletic school and would be a huge get for any conference. If they feel that aligning themselves with Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc over USC, UCLA, Cal, etc is best for them, they'll do it. They're ultimately sitting pretty right now and shouldn't be in any rush to make a decision. Both conferences would bend over backwards to accommodate Texas, and whichever one gives them more is where they'll go, I think. If national exposure is what they're looking for, I think Texas/UCLA, Texas/USC, would be bigger draws for them than Texas/Michigan, Texas/Ohio State (although those two schools would also give them exposure, I just don't think it would be as much). However, I think either conference would be a good fit. Is that better? I don't think this is going to be a factor at all in the decision process.
  5. When is the Vince Young Heisman Presentation going to be?
  6. I think the two divisions should be called the In-N-Out Burger and Whataburger divisions. Someone's been reading the Fake Larry Scott twitter account. I haven't, but I will if he used that joke! I like it :D
  7. Have that bookmarked on youtube, one of the best calls ever.
  8. Radio? TV in Chicago. WGN News is covering it as we speak. Sucks, I am getting scrubs.
  9. Well, there is the rumor that they're inviting UT and aTm. Would you want UT if it meant Tech had to come with them and aTm? I would. I'd take UTEP if it was somehow the only way to get UT. UTEP would change their name back to Texas Western for a chance to go to the Big 10.
  10. Kane is the one to watch out for.
  11. What the hell is WGN doing.
  12. I hope Hossa takes this game into his hands after that call.
  13. Back to [expletive] officiating
  14. looked those years up just for fun. in 1966, brazil somehow lost to both portugal and hungary by 3-1 scores. 1974 was held in germany; italy missed out because they lost to poland and drew with argentina (poland actually went 3-0 in that group; argentina had a better goal differential). also, haiti was the representative from concacaf, australia made it, zaire was the african representative and no asian team participated. i forgot how much the world cup was a euro/south american event (granted those are the teams that always win, but there are a lot more nations involved now). east and west germany were in the same group. Those were back in the days of Eusebio for Portugal who was a beast.
  15. Their 23 man roster is best there is.
  16. Nani out of the WC now with a broken coller bone. I don't ever remember this many injuries just weeks before the start.
  17. Rangers can load up again this year if they have another good draft.
  18. Nice work, Texas. Way to work hard on the things that really matter. Ugh, screw Baylor. I'm ready to be done with those losers. No real surprise, they stepped in after the SWC. But yeah screw Baylor they can join SMU and Rice to form whatever they want.
  19. I think Serbia really could win that group, which could potentially mean a lot should the US clear the group stage. Grant Whal has them in the semi's which I think is stretch, but stranger things have happened.
  20. In all fairness he has been healthy way to much this past season. It was bound to happen.
  21. Just read Drogba broke his arm today.
