  1. I wasn't expecting a win, but I thought we could at least keep it close. If they keep playing like this they will be Top 5 before the end of the month. Texas is really good, and they've been getting better all season. Very nervous about Saturday's game. I'd say that team has the most NBA talent in the Big 12, and somehow Rick Barnes hasn't effed it up yet. I'm usually a huge Barnes critic but he has actually been very good this year. He did spend most of the offseason in Utah with Jerry Sloan trying to replecate what they do, so I will give him some credit there in seeing that he needed to change. After last years debacle its nice to see them doing well. Usually Texas-Kansas is a good game, but I don't like the chances on the road.
  2. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/insider/news/story?id=6036153 There's a Kiper mock too, but it's insider only. For some reason, even thought the McShay one says insider in the url, it let me see it. Kiper has the Bears taking CB, Aaron Williams of Texas. Corey Liuget is my first choice, but if he's gone, Nevis is a nice pick. Aaron Williams was pretty terrible this year, but he's an elite talent, and would be a solid pick if the Bears can develop him. If you feel you have to go OL, I'd look at Stefan Wisnewski and Mike Pouncey. But I don't think that it's a big dropoff from those 2 and a 2nd round guy like Ben Ijalana out of Villanova or Marcus Cannon out of TCU (both who provide T/G flexibility). The dropoff at DT and CB are huge in this draft. The saftey's for Texas sucked this year and Williams was having to cover for Blake Gideon a lot. I would look at what Williams did last year with Earl Thomas playing more than this year.
  3. This is the best game they have had at the FT line in probably 2 years. This is a straight up ass whipping. I wonder if Thompson will stay one more year, he has his best friend coming in next season in Myck Kobongo giving them a TJ Ford type PG. If he does Texas should be preseason top 5.

  5. I'm expecting a finger to fall off or something.
  6. UTexas finalized the deal with ESPN today for 20 years/$300 million. Imagine the kind of damage Auburn could do with that.
  7. Brady got traded to the Jets yesterday, didn't you hear? Roethlisberger isn't that great either. I got caught up in the Pujols to the Cubs rumors yesterday and missed that
  8. Haha, Bayless said Cutler is the worst remaining QB in the playoffs.
  9. That sucks, hope Soriano is doing well.
  10. Why do you speak ill of Musberger? Is he not as good at basketball games? I think he sucks at announcing regardless of the sport. He and Herbstreit are my favorite national announcing duo, period that's mostly due to Herbstreit. Brad Nessler and Herbstreit would be the best tandem in college football I don't really care for Musberger calling basketball for whatever reason.
  11. Didn't the same thing happen at Alabama last year?
  12. Your going to have to put out if you expect him to sign.
  13. Whats the price tag on him? I know its high.
  14. This is a great move and now gives us two legit CF's who can hit, hit for power, draw walks, and play plus Defense. Where do you think he will start next season high-A? That might be a little high.
  15. That's really strange. Even if they do have motivation issues or the like with him, give him more than a year before floating rumors that you're looking to deal him. Dez Bryant and Kenny Britt in Nashville would be pretty awesome, but the Cowboys would probably ask too much (if they really are serious about dealing him). I think it was more of a hypothetical than anything. If the Cowboys could get a top 15 pick would they listen, then yes they would listen. Dez is Jerry's boy so I doubt anything would actually happen for a long time. I disagree. If the rumor is true, then something is up. You don't look to trade a rookie who showed that kind of talent the first year. He was outperforming Miles Austin for a while late in the season, and they signed Austin to a big extension. A top 15 pick for a late first round pick who turned out to be better than expected? I don't think so. If he's a model citizen, there is no way they think about it. He's got issues. Could be TO syndrome. He was acting a lot like TO that one game where he didn't get the ball. But its not an actual rumor. Someone asked a random person in the front office if he thought the Cowboys would listen if someone would ever offer a top 15 pick. The reason being is the Cowboys have some depth at WR and are very thin at OL and in the secondary. They are not looking to trade him. Its like saying would Jim Hendry listen to a random offer for Stalin Castro, of course he would listen.
  16. Eric Cantona is the new director of soccer for the Cosmos.
  17. It's a great hire for Michigan but odd for Mattison isn't it? Unless he really wants to become a college head coach. He's 61, so being a head coach is probably not in his cards. He's coached with Brady Hoke before and was DC at Michigan back in the 90's. He also has a daughter that lives in Ann Arbor and she's supposed to be having a baby soon. He's always been big on family. Huge hire for him, though I don't know how much he is going to have to work with this next season.

  19. I wanted nothing to do with the contract that he got. Losing respect for the guy because he signed with someone else is stupid. Especially when he signed a contract to where his grandkids would never have to work if he is smart.
  20. Fielder agreed to a 1 year/15.5 million today to avoid arbitration.
  21. How long ago was that, I can't remember? 7 years or is it already at 10?
  22. Probably not, but if you're going to include Shark in the list, you have to include Diamond. He could well get some starts this year to fill for injuries. At what point does Shark not make a run for the NFL?
  23. There is something very shaddy about Scott Drew, I won't be surprised to see Baylor hit with some infractions down the line.
  24. Apparently. I had never heard of it. I'm not really surprised, its a good way for them to demand a raise.
  25. Texas lost Duane Akina last night which was a huge blow, but already signed Jerry Gray to fill his spot which is great news. Still need to figure out the new OL coach.
