  1. Well let's be honest, and this isn't a slight on the Eredivisie which is obviously better than MLS, if he can't contribute at Alkmaar, he has no business being in Europe. Much like Adu, there's no point wasting your time in leagues comprable (or in Freddy's case) below MLS level if you're supposedly National Team quality. If you fail somewhere like Holland, Portugal or France, don't waste time stepping down a level in Europe, just come home. Those are exactly my thoughts. I could understand him having issues getting PT at Ajax, PSV, or Twente, but now its no more excuses. The one thing now is he is going to have to do is work his ass off.
  2. Nothing yet from Dutch sources, only the FOX Sports story being cited. ETA: apparently confirmed on Twitter: @jozyaltidore17 2 mil Euros w/performance bonuses and resell % that would get it close to the $10 mil Villarreal paid NY. So in a sense they're betting on him, but the Eredivisie has always been kind to strikers so it looks to be an ok deal for everyone. In a nutshell Jozy has to perform. It will be a big setback in his career if he doesn't.
  3. It will be a major disappointment if you. Your game against OSU will be very telling.
  4. Sounds like something a Sox fan would say. Or a Bazinga fan. :clapping: Or me for this week at least
  5. Mizzou was/is big on Kiel as well, but they got a commit from Maty Mauk this morning, so that should help IU's chances. If it's not Mizzou, I'd rather see IU get Kiel. It also appears the Kiel will not be heading to OU either now. Looks like this will become an Indiana, ND, and Michigan battle.
  6. This is from yesterday
  7. We can un-ban JeffH to get his take on this.
  8. Because it's Ian Darke and he's English and those are the words he uses? Plus any American who talks about the sport feels obligated to speak British. I remember Brad Friedel developing an accent just from playing over there.
  9. Harrison doesn't like his own teammates, why would he like the commissioner. The guy is a complete nut job, would have been funny to see him retire like he threatened.
  10. Terrible defense on that one. Just like Brazil losing Wambach and giving her a free header, I don't know how you lose her on a corner kick. She's the last player on the team that should be left open. Wambach is a mismatch against anyone on Japan, but the US has to do a better job on maintaining possession. Surely the US are heavy favourites for the final? I would list the US as very slight favorites. Japan is playing the best they have in their history, play very technical and like to control possession. The US didn't respond well to France who was similar but I think they have a little bit more fire power than Japan. The US will play very physical against Japan and play down the wings a whole lot more and try to use their size advantage on crosses and set pieces. If the US can control close to 50% of the possession I think they win fairly easily. Hope Solo could win this game alone too.

  12. Spandex Tux at the Espy's
  13. I believe Brazil is in a must win situation to advance to the quarters. Not sure on the tie breaker rules, but I believe 1 Costa Rica win would trump Brazil's 3 draws should that happen. And unless they have a 3-3 draw they will have less goals scores than Paraguay. Of course expecting this result from Ecuador is a little bit much but Brazil have hardly played great this far. Should they lose they are out regardless.
  14. Alex Morgan could give Hope Solo a run for her money.
  15. Wow, Wambach again 2-1 US.
  16. France still putting on too much pressure. And they tie it as I type this.
  17. you are referencing the chuck oliver tweet. chuck attended Auburn, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't about Auburn. LSU fans are worried about a Will Lyles connection. I'm not sure what this one will be about. Will Lyles and Patrick Peterson. Also heard it could be about Bama, at least I wouldn't be surprised.
  18. Which explains why every news source is jumping all over the story. You want it to be more of a story than it actually is. UT has been giving the NCAA info on street agents for some time and have been one of the main reasons people like Will Lyles are being uncovered. Of course you will spin that as saying that the NCAA is just going to let them get away with whatever for helping them out. However I highly doubt if the administration had any reason to worry they would not be bringing in the NCAA that close to them to begin with. If they are doing anything illegal I hope they get busted.
  19. They did take their u23 team, so it's not much of a surprise.
  20. She never even said took, said offered. Yeah this is the same as your USC Trojans. Just cause you got caught as being one of the biggest cheating universities ever doesn't mean everyone is handing out Reggie Bush contracts. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying players haven't been offered things at Texas or any University in the country, but there is no shred of evidence of anything that anyone has done. Especially at the level of cover up at USC or OSU.
  21. Where did she ever say they took payments?
  22. Yahoo is said to be having another story come out about an SEC West team not names Arkansas or Ole Miss in the next month. Place your bets!
  23. Lots of choices to make, hope you don't mess it up ;-).
  24. I did a double take when I saw your record on the email report Monday morning. Nice Job!
  25. Maybe you should buy yourself some consistency ;-). The West has a 30,970 points where the East has 30,453. The West has had 31,081 points against, East has 30,348. We can see who has played a tougher schedule too. East also has 3 teams below 3550 points where the West has 1. The West is more balanced, where the East is more top heavy. Hardly that much better if any though.
