  1. You mean 8 weeks, right? Because that's all I've heard. I've heard 8 weeks, but expected to be back before FSU.
  2. This should help speed up an otherwise slow week.
  3. Good, Whal interview with Klinsmann. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/grant_wahl/08/08/klinsmann.mexico/index.html?xid=cnnbin&hpt=hp_bn10 I liked this:
  4. I'm good with this as long as we don't have to see the Twilight version of Sammy, that one scared me.
  5. One of the better races I can remember in the West for the last playoff spot. Looking at it closer it looks like Alamo could control its own destiny as the only person with a winning record against the 3 other teams and plays Quakers, and Habitual Linesteppers the next 2 weeks. Against each other: Alamo = 3-1 Habit = 2-3 Quakers = 2-2 Fuzzy = 2-3
  6. Awesome, even the OU one ;-). Is he from Texas?
  7. Nice. United's 2nd goal in the Community Shield was very nice.
  8. If Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, or Baylor did this you would be singing a different tune. Since it's an accepted practice hopefully Mack Brown offers Dorial Green-Beckham's dad a job soon.
  9. I'm 2-0 against ya, bud! :) Yep. Got to maintain my 1 game lead :-).
  10. I'm partial to head to head as the 1st tiebreaker(as its a head to head league), though total points would benefit me more this season. Total points does make some sense though. In the event of a 3 way tie I would move to total points first.
  11. It has mostly to do with you acting like a [expletive] lunatic and the way you respond to everything. If you approached things differently it would be one thing, but every single issue revolves around you and gets blown up like this it is more than just a pattern. Really this has been going on for about 4 years now and people are just tired of it. The other 15 managers can find a way to agree and move on, you don't seem to have that ability.
  12. His dad was also offered a job with a program and accepted it as well. Good timing.
  13. It's not but there is really not a good way to divide 4 games between 116 or so 1A schools. And for these smaller schools the exposure is just as important as the money and for the kids of the smaller schools too. I would like to see the bigger schools forced to play A home and home series when scheduling these games too.
  14. the "gimme win" and "small schools getting a million dollars to lose" part of the system is bogus. It's why schools shouldn't be allowed to do their own scheduling We would lose a lot of football programs as a result. Of course everyone should be allowed to schedule their non-conference games.
  15. Malcolm Williams quit Texas yesterday for personal issues. Meaning Jordan Shipley's little bro is going to be getting a whole lot of reps as a true freshman.
  16. 1st Annual Will Lyles Bowl! Have the coaches agreed to exchange recruiting tapes yet ;-)?
  17. Who is their QB and wouldn't they have lost a bunch of commits when Tressel left? Signing Day had already passed when Tressel quit, and those kids where fully aware of the situation when they signed. They will take a hit with this years class though. They need a top 5 nationally defense to not be a 4 loss team this year.
  18. That's an awesome article, hopefully he gets the 2nd half. Agreed on: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt), DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Edson Buddle (FC Ingolstadt). I would rather bring up Dax McCarty too.
  19. GOALKEEPERS (2): Bill Hamid (D.C.United), Tim Howard (Everton) DEFENDERS (8): Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Etienne), Edgar Castillo (Club America), Timmy Chandler (FC Nürnberg), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Heath Pearce (Chivas USA), Tim Ream (New York Red Bulls) MIDFIELDERS (7): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), José Torres (Pachuca) FORWARDS (5): Freddy Adu (Benfica), Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Edson Buddle (FC Ingolstadt), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy) Brek Shea with the call up, given his recent form that makes sense. Beasley listed as a forward?
  20. Oregon at LSU in week 1 at Cowboys Stadium Oklahoma at FSU in week 3 These rankings will be changing very fast this year.
  21. My interest in this game has increased a whole lot the past 7 days. Glad to see Chandler, curious about Hamid.
  22. Wow, great goals by Chivas vs Barca.
  23. including wales and macedonia??? imho yes, including Wales and Macedonia More so for the playoff spot.
  24. I'm feeling pretty good about this week with Navin's 3 starts so far totaling a -75 points.
  25. I know Texas generally views Texas HS kids as their property to accept or reject as the school sees fit but that's bot quite the way it works nor should it. As Snood pointed out, there are a couple schools that go head to head with Texas and there are other schools that do so less regularly than ou or atm. Yet one of your justifications is that it doesn't given Texas much of an advantage. Any additional advantage is unfair, you understand that, right? Or you'd be ok with every other school getting a few more days of allowed contact with recruits or 1 more in-house visit with recruits than Texas. I mean, that's not much of an advantage. My main point revolves around Texas pretty much having their class wrapped up before students even begin their senior season. Texas offers roughly 35 scholarships a year where every other school in the Big12-2 is offering around 100. Like I had said before I really could careless about showing games on the LHN and think this is more of an ESPN push to fill up additional programming. Showing games on the LHN is not going to be limited to UT, it is another tool that all coaches will be able to use to evaluate players. I understand that there could be an additional advantage towards UT, but every other school could also benefit from it should they choose to use it to there advantage. Again I don't care about showing high school games on the network so its really not an issue to me. Should Texas be telling ESPN which games or players to show on the network then even I would have a problem with it.
