  1. Lots of UT and ND rumors been going on for a couple of weeks. Anything from trying to bring them in to the Big 12-2 (not going to happen but your more than welcome to bring your tv contract with you if you want to) to UT and ND working towards building a new conference that also highlights OU and BYU and others (will force ND to lose of a lot of their traditional matchups, but has some appeal), to scheduling a long term agreement to play one another. Either way I am all for it and it makes a lot of sense.
  2. Well congrats on having your opinion.
  3. I don't think I would feel too uncomfortable with Shea going to the EPL to a midlevel team like Fulham or Bolton. Seeing what Jozy is doing makes me want him in Holland too. Will he get enough burn for PSV? Guessing Roma will want to get in the mix too until the secure at least 1 American. Just read that the AZ stadium plays "Born in the USA" now after each Jozy goal :-).
  4. I agree even though I shouldn't till next season ;-).
  5. first of all, i think 15 points a week seems like kind of a lot. secondly, there actually is a perfect way to determine who the better team is...it's total points. is that really so crazy? if team A scores more points than team B over the course of a season, team A is better. really couldn't be much clearer. and i don't really know what throwing out the 2 highest and 2 lowest weeks would prove. I agree 15 is a lot but 1.7 isn't and should not be enough to consider 1 team better than the other. Throwing out several of the top and bottom weeks gets rid of anomalies. If team A throws a perfect game during the season does that prove he is better cause he has 50 more points than team B? My point is there is no perfect system, and simply saying the most points means your team is better is not true.
  6. He really struck that perfectly in stride, didn't even look like he was trying to get much on it and it was still rocket. You think this is his last season in MLS? I'm still shocked in just how much he has improved this year. Glad Jozy is turning it up.
  7. So in the case of you and RWD on a per week basis RWD has avg. 1.7 points per week more than you. In the case of you vs. Bazinga's its 15 points per week. My point is there is no perfect way to mirror the best indicator as to who the better team is. At least in a H2H tiebreaker you had two chances to match each other for two 7 day periods your players vs his players. If he beats you by 30 points in each match up why can't he make the claim that he deserves to be there over you? You have scored as many as 398 and as little as 211 in any given week (excluding the All-Star break period). Total points don't represent how well your team will perform in any given week, as much as the say how many points your team is capable of putting up in a given week. Throw away the 2 highest and 2 lowest weeks if you want to count total points.
  8. I get what you're saying, but the dude has the most accurate info out there on A&M mainly because he doesn't run with every rumor he hears. He'll confirm something as much as possible before saying anything definitive. Two weeks ago I would have believed it on the spot. I don't distrust him, just the past two weeks of all the rumors. It was starting to feel like the Brian Roberts or Peavy threads.
  9. I was going to ask for that as Bill Liucci saying so doesn't count.
  10. Not as important in basketball as it is in football ;-).
  11. If we went by who had the best team and scored the most overall points, I'd have a lot more than one championship. Downside of a head to head league. Wait, so I am not winning the Championship after this week?
  12. Their youth squad has really improved too. They should be improving for the next several years.
  13. The LHN to FIOS is done, which is perfect for me. And just part of the HD package.
  14. Serious the CBS App can eat a bag full of dicks for all I care.
  15. He's not the only one. IIRC both Yankees and Red Sox ownership have bought small chunks of ownership of a couple teams in Europe. I've never heard that about the Yankees, but John Henry from the Red Sox owns a huge piece of Liverpool FC. The Glazer family (TB Bucs) owns the majority of Manchester United. I think the Yankees have some sort of co marketing deal with United as well. Yep, but I am not sure if they still have that going on. Barca and Real will be next, I'm actually surprised Jerry Jones hasn't partnered up with one of them yet. Seeing what ManU just inked for their training jersey's shows how much more marketing potential soccer has and that hasn't yet even hit a fraction of what it should be in the US.
  16. I heard this too, and it's probably not so crazy to believe even if it's just a vague memory. Soccer is the next great frontier in American sports. Guys like Beane would be very interested in getting in on the proverbial ground floor. As someone who doesn't "get it" with soccer, I hope America gets bored of sports and moves onto math and science before soccer goes crazy here. Though I guess it's infinitely better than our dumbass version of football and it's 12 minutes of game time. He probably loves the transfer system setup in soccer. Buy players when they are kids for pennies on the $ and sell them high for a couple of million 3-8 years down the road. Of course this works a little bit better in Europe vs. MLS but its getting better. Like Jersey, I really have no idea what you mean.
  17. So whats the word on Joe Corona? Just read the soccernet article on him, obviously know very little about him and don't watch much mexican soccer.
  18. info = bad Not happening today. #-o I've heard Saturday now during a supposed Big 12 Conference Call. Who knows at this point, though it sounds like the exit fee will be less should it be done quickly.
  19. https://twitter.com/#!/BryanDFischer/status/106410155901595648 Ya think? Wow is he really that clueless?
  20. He's not an outright FA is he, I just can't imagine the posting fee being too friendly either. He probably has the best chance for success in the Major's of any Japanese pitcher but its a bug risk. At the same token, I would still make a bid. If we happen to win the posting then great but that alone might cost $20+ million alone.
  21. Lache Seastrunk to Baylor is done. Good $25,000 spent by Oregon. Sounds like Lache is going to try to get a medical hardship of some sort completed to play immediately. http://eye-on-collegefootball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/24156338/31496854
  22. Yea, I'm near St. Pete and thats one everyone says. Doesn't mean much though. The Cubs position is just a signficantly better opportunity all around. The Rays this year are a pretty good example of why he's eventually going to have to leave, pretty much. The Rays are a very good team this season and still aren't remotely close to the playoffs. How much does Friedman make right now? I'm sure doubling it wouldn't be an issue.
  23. Stop trying to be Truffle ;-)
  24. Immunity from what? Personal records not being stricken? Wasn't there a chance they could be financially implicated with Shapiro for receiving benefits paid for by his ponzi scheme? I saw headlines to that effect but didn't really read on. Not sure how the NCAA could offer that immunity either. Yeah that doesn't make sense. If the IRS wants to pursue anything they will and they won't give a [expletive] about the NCAA.
