  1. NO way I would trade Ohman for Michaels.
  2. You can forgit about Jeff Weaver now that the Cubs signed Wade Miller.
  3. Im not expecting alot out of Miller considering he underwent labrum surgery at the end of September. But if he is healthy he is a good pitcher. The one thing that came to mind when i heard of this signing was when Carlos Zambrano hit that homerun off him in 2003.
  4. He cannot get lefthanded hitters out anymore. Dont see how he will make the team.
  5. If Jim wants to get better on the defense side why is Barrett still on the team? Bengie Molina is a terrific defensive catcher who can call a game as well, Molina is also one of the better contact hitters in the AL. I think when Barrett was behind the plate the team had a 4.40 era, while when Blanco was behind the dish the team had a 3.76 team era. The one problem with Bengie is he cannot run. Another thing about Barrett is he cannot throw out runners who steal. I think he is at 20% or 18% at throwing runners out.
  6. Is Mr.INT coming back next year???
  7. I would not mind the Cubs signing Jeff Weaver, mostly because he can pitch alot of innings.
  8. I'm not sure if Aubrey Huff is the guy that would get the Cubs over the top.
  9. I would try to make a deal for Mota. Im not really sold on Wuertz or Novoa just yet. Mota would give the Cubs more experience in the bullpen. Dempster Mota Howry Eyre Ohman Williamson Rusch (If he is not part of the Mota deal) This bullpen looks pretty good if you ask me
  10. The only problem I have with Hairtson is, he misses way to many signs, he is not a good base stealer, and he is not a good bunter.
  11. You cannot compare Pujols to Patterson. Its like comparing apples to oranges.
  12. I think every team breaks camp with 12 pitchers. Starters usually do not pitch 9 innings in their starts, for the first couple of weeks.
  13. The Cubs will most likely open the season with 12 pitchers which means, 5 bench options.
  14. I would not mind the Cubs signing Hidalgo, he would be a good 4th outfielder. That means no Grissom. Enough said.
  15. Well you cannot just blame Hendry for the farm system it was a mess when he arrived. He has rebuilt it somewhat, but there is still alot of work to do. If anytihing it has been bad coaching down on the farm.
  16. I do agree with Jim Hendry's moves. Jim has made some great moves trading that bum Hundley for Grudz. and Karros both led the Cubs into the playoffs. He traded Choi for Lee, Got Murton in the Nomar deal, Ramirez for Jose Hernandez. So to bash Jim hendry for the moves he has made is ignorant. It is easy to second guess Jim Hendry's moves, im not accusing anyone on this site, but most people dont realize what Jim has done as the GM for the Cubs. Would you rather have MacPhail or how about Lynch? The choice is obvious if you ask me.
  17. Goony's evil twin, Im asking you who these guys are, if their is someone who was a better option than Neifi i would like to no.
  18. CarolinaCubFan I cannot agree more. Who ever said Speed is a non factor is out of their mind, along with the fact fundamentals are not important. Are you kidding me? If you cannot field the ball, get a bunt down, hit the cut-off man, and get that runner in on 3rd base you are not goign to be succesful. I think people have been watching a poor fundamentaly sound Cubs team way too long to realize what speed and being able to master the fundamentals can get you.
  19. Well Neifi is a solid "BENCH PLAYER" considering he can play 3rd, ss, 2nd base with good defense. He might of been offered more money and years by another team.
  20. I dont think the Cubs "OVERPAID" for anyone. When it comes to Eyre, Howry, and Jones, Cubs got a bargin. Other teams were offering these guys more money and more years than what the Cubs got for them.
  21. Why would you Trade Prior for Manny? Why make a strength a weakness.
  22. Im not really sold on Hairston yet. I dont recall home many times he missed a sign but it was way to many. He is not a good bunter, and cannot run the bases well enough.
  23. He was not fully recovered from having off-season ankle surgery. The only reason why Baltimore traded him is because they had Roberts at 2nd base and they missed out on Delgado.
