I think if the Cubs can get solid performances from Williams, Rusch and Guzman/Hill the Cubs will be fine. If there is one thing I would like to see Jim Hendry do is trade for Tony Graffanino. He would be a perfect number 2 hitter, just like how Mark Grudzielanik was for the cubs in 03.
I finished my draft today here is what I got: C: Bengie Molina 1B: Justin Morneau 2B: Marcus Giles SS: Jose Reyes 3B: Eric Chavez OF: Ichiro OF: Cliff Floyd OF: Brian Giles Utility: Travis Hafner BN: Jeff Francoeur BN: Ronnie Belliard BN: Roco Baldelli SP: Johan Santana SP: Rich Harden SP: Tim Hudson SP: Cliff Lee P: Doug Davis BN: Kenny Rogers RP: Joe Borowski BN: Jeff Supan RP: Chad Orvella Trade Proposals: Rich Harden for Carlos Zambrano Kenny Rogers for Matt Cain Justin Morneau and Cliff Lee for Barry Zito Doug Davis for John Lackey
Looking at Carroll's numbers he is a carrer .269 BA with a .344 OBP Defensive stats from 05: SS: 41 Games 1.000 Fielding% 2B: 63 Games .980 Fielding% 3B: 12 Games 1.000 Fielding% Sounds like a pretty good utility player.
The Colorado Rockies on Saturday purchased the contact of infielder Jamey Carroll from the Washington Nationals for $300,000. Why wouldnt Hendry try to get Carroll? Makes more sense to get him then sign Augie Ojeda.
