  1. Heh heh Can we go back to forgetting he exists now?
  2. Santa's fast, but is he a south paw? Has he been tested for PED? "...laying a finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the ladder he rose, to snag the line drive headed for the gap, and double the runner off second..." Or something
  3. Yes But according to another of the Famous Orioles Hangouter Insiders, his guy says nothing is imminent. So who the hell knows.
  4. No, they're very preoccupied with rebuilding their team. For the record, even though most of them were hoping for Pie, the majority of them seem to like the deal. I think it's a win/ win.
  5. Getting Bedard would give the Reds a better rotation than the Cubs; their offense is already better, and their bullpen will definitely benefit by adding Cordero. If anything, I'd be way more concerned about the Reds than the Brewers if they pull this off.
  6. Pecan pie tastes good. Pumpkin pie tastes good.
  7. Awful idea. People complain about Soriano's OBP as the leadoff hitter, then why in God's name would we want Theriot up there? .286/.353/.444 vs. lefties last year in 126 ABs .301/.384/.462 vs. lefties career in 186 ABs I'm not saying I would do it or agree with it (nor do I want Theriot anywhere near the everyday lineup, but oh well), but it wasn't a completely absurd idea. Thanks. Theriot against lefties would almost certainly be better than Pie against lefties.
  8. Maybe they could have him lead off against RHP, and switch him with Theriot against LHP.
  9. That just says he's ASKED to use his first name. So they can still say Fuke no buddy. Then cut a deal where he agrees to play CF just in case we trade Pie for Craig Counsell.
  10. If it happens maybe they get Luke Scott back and move Kung Fu to center.
  11. Orioles insider says Cubs want Roberts bad, may part with Pie.
  12. Bout time. What will the toweled crusader CATscan do without his faithful sidekick Throbbin?
  13. The timing of this is curious. Anyone think Luke Scott was Hendry's backup plan if he didn't get Fukudome?
  14. That's so disrespectful. He must call off the deal now.
  15. The devil.......Mephistopheles? :edited to remove url:
  16. Fun Fact: RBIs since Ken Griffey Jr. became a Red in 2000-- Jones 579 ------------------------------Griffey 549 I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'
  17. I guess I'm just too feeble-minded your highness. Many apologies your highness.
  18. Not to be too defensive of Jacque Jones here, but there is something to be said for reliability. Bradley has only cracked 500 ABs once in his entire career. I agree that the presence of Murton puts the Cubs in a good position to count on someone like that but you guys are acting like he's a consistent run producer when he's practically guaranteed to break down. Bradley's lifetime OPS of .797 isn't so much better than Jones' .783 that I'd fall all over myself to sign him.
  19. Pretty funny I guess Thanks everybody
  20. (to the tune of "Light My Fire" by The Doors) No need to argue; this is mostly exaggeration and it's supposed to be fun. 21. No, to "get it" you have to realize that the Cubs feel the offense just needs a little tweaking. A speedy lefty infielder to bat second. A lefty RF with power to bat fifth. And we're done. All we can hope for is we get lucky and they happen to be good players. (Roberts/ Fukudome instead of, say, Jose Valentin and Geoff Jenkins.) Stuff like trading Pie or batting Soriano fifth, I'll believe when it happens.
  22. Hm... that sounds really familiar. It's almost as if we've tried Dempster as a starter before, only to put him in the pen because it went so badly. He wasn't great as a starter, but the reason he went to the pen was named LaTroy Hawkins.
