    If he bunted it would go 2 feet. It took a full swing to get the ball half way to 3rd. I meant Hairy. I thought for sure he'd be sac bunting. AJ with a Jacque Jones-like throw to first means Hairston and Pierre are at 2nd and 3rd. He did sac-bunt didn't he? These radio guys are brutal. Their monotone jibber jabber is almost impossible to follow.

    If the Cubs released him I could see Hendry signing him to a minor league deal with huge incentives for a call-up.

    You say Rusch shouldn't be included, then say he'd get a minor league deal, then say Bynum and Perez are the ones that fit the bill.

    Yes, exactly. The team, and everybody involved with it should ignore the media coverage and focus on the team. Fans are fans, GMs are GMs. Comparing the two in this situation is asinine. Furthermore, a tremendous amount of the Sullivan bashing on here is misplaced and juvenile. People on here get mad whenever Sullivan has a negative word to say about the Cubs, no matter how accurate it was. Justifying his rant against a writer by saying some random fans had similar rants is absurd.

    That's assinine. We don't run the Cubs. But anyway, I can't speak for anyone other than myslef, but if Hendry were justified in calling a reporter on the carpet that would be one thing. But with the state of the currentl club, it is quite another. And I am in no way defending the hack Paul Sullivan. His sportswriting is just bad, but then again that is not what Hendry was complaining about. No, it's not "assinine" at all. If you or I see something from Sullivan that we don't like, no one is going to get all pissy because we comment on it. Just because Hendry has the ability to go straight to Sullivan rather than whining about it on a message board doesn't make it any different. He saw something that he didn't like and he let it be known. Not a big deal. No, it's asinine. Alou and Mercker were whiny little babies for complaining about the announcers. That's not the same as fans complaining about the announcers. Their job is to play the game. Our job is to watch, listen to or read about the game.

    Yes, that's exactly what we're doing. We aren't Jim Hendry. We aren't running this team. We aren't supposed to ignore all the peripheral BS and just do our job, which is putting the team together.

    Guys, remember, Neifi and Rusch were both released by their teams, and the Cubs were the only ones to take them. Both are also just as bad now as they were then. There is no guarantee others would pick either up.

    If this .400 or lower winning percentage continues, you'll be seeing games with 10-15k+ empty seats.

    Yeah, I don't see it. You aren't allowed to talk about Dusty in a thread that doesn't have Dusty in the title? Dusty and Neifi are tied at the hip. It's hard to discuss either one without bringing up the other.

    It would be funny if they could get a lot of people milling about outside the gates, disrupting the flow of fans into the game. They should all bring a copy of the Daily Herald to read while standing there.

    WBC didn't test for HGH did it? the anti-doping something or other was very disappointed with the WBC drug testing.

    Control seems to be the only concern. He's walked 4+ per 9 all his career and he was doing just that until the last outing, now he's at 3.91.

    So Hendry has a good relationship with Scott Boras, but not some GMs.

    I certainly agree with that last line. Sounds like the Cubs failed to do their due diligence, which is kind of like the way they completely ignore objective analysis, and have no clue about the demand for such players as Estes, Alf, Rusch and Perez.
