He was so insanely horsefeathering good it hurt to see him go, but damn I'm glad they did. I can't imagine hating the greatest Cardinal player I've ever seen being on the team.

also the vaunted brewers offense destroys the baseball to the tune of a 96 wRC+, 13th in baseball I get it. They're doing it through slugging, which is more volatile and doesn't correlate as well as OBP. The point remains, scoring runs isn't their issue. It's preventing them. Verlander, despite not being vintage Verlander is by no means bad and should see a bump from a league change. If it's a low prospect cost and they can always flip him in the offseason or later if he's producing, why not? -

That's the 11th or 12th loss this year when leading after 8. It was tied after 8. Unless you meant heading into the 8th. I did. I think the graphic said leading in the 8th.
