  1. I'm up in the air on this theory. Pujols range could allow him to play deeper and shade toward 2b which would help him make more out of zone plays.
  2. It's ok if your bitter. We understand. BTW are you the guy that posts the Youtube? I think you're missing the point. I think not. So you really think that I am just bitter that he was signed by the Cubs? You don't think there is a chance that I'm elated that he signed with the Cubs so I don't have to put up with him being a butcher in the field and put up mid 70's OPS+ full of singles?
  3. Didn't mgl have a hard on for his defense? If so I would imagine that it would be at 2nd. Having Izturis and Pujols flanking him would also help quite a bit I would imagine. I personally believe that is why Kennedy had such an outstanding 08 defensively according to Dewan.

  5. Cardinal fan chiming in here... I think a couple of guys here don't realize how awful the guy is defensively. He has no speed, no arm and no range. His only skill is the ability to make contact.
  6. I get Royals and Cards games here in SWMO. I have no bias in any way when it comes to the Royals. From watching Gathright it easy to say that he is terrible. The only thing he can do is run. He's not all that smart on the basepaths, but he could be better with good coaching. As far as defense goes, he takes very awkward routes to balls but his speed bails him out. This great defender stuff is BS. He's labeled a good defender because he is fast. That's really all there is to it.
  7. So you're saying OU vs Texas?
  8. I don't get it.
  9. Me too, especially in PetCo. I think if he wanted to he could get to 400 wins.
  10. Florida - 41 Alabama - 20 Oklahoma - 34 Missouri - 41 I'm a Mizzou fan and want to see an upset. Florida is better than Alabama in every facet of the game. Mizzou could win a shootout. But I honestly think OU should win by at least 14
  11. LOL What do you have to do to be considered a good shortstop? outslugging ryan theriot would be a nice start done every year except last year. what's next? You going to tell me that Lohse is better than Zambrano because of last years ERA and win totals?
  12. LOL What do you have to do to be considered a good shortstop?
  13. I think he had what would just be a bad year most of the time, coupled with PetCo and playing on a god awful team.
  14. It's not. I just like watching a stats guy defend someone with a negative VORP that is being paid 5 million+ It's not very hard. He's a + defender that has hit better than league average for a shortstop in all but one year. And he plays half his games at PetCo.
  15. That was me, in response to a question earlier in the thread.
  16. True, it's not like he was statistically the worst starting SS in the National League last year; Omar Vizquel was. 15th out of 16 isn't so bad. Why is last year the end all be all?
  17. Be honest. Taking park factors, defense and careers into account, who would you rather have? ryan theriot for like 500k or khalil greene for $6.5mil? Uhhh, neither? i would be really upset if we were going into 2009 with khalil greene pegged as our starting short stop. im not enthused about having theriot there with no back up plan, but at least if it crashes and burns it doesn't cost us almost 7 million dollars. the way things are going with the market right now it seems as if we either spend those 7 mil or we dont. in other words sure it costs 7 mil, but it's just some fat cats money. if we didnt get greene, im not so sure we're spending those 7 mil elsewhere. i would love to blow our trade-deadline cash for someone that can't even outhit ryan "singles" theriot The only year Greene failed to outhit Theriot was last year. So Theriot is a better hitter?
  18. Be honest. Taking park factors, defense and careers into account, who would you rather have? Before this year, Greene. Now, Theriot. Really? One year sways your opinion that much?
  19. Be honest. Taking park factors, defense and careers into account, who would you rather have?
  20. The Cards had a bum that only put up a .690(ish) Ops. Now they got a guy that put up a .599 for almost 3X the cost. Good move. lol, I wish you were a GM.
  21. some guy who drives in runs with his glove....and occasionally aaron miles. You mean, "He who must not be named."
  22. For the record the Cubs have won the last two division championships and the Cardinals haven't. The Cardinals may do somethings better than we do, but trading for a guy like Khalil Greene isn't it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he meant that the Cardinals are more fiscally responsible and have done a good job of acquiring undervalued players. You know, Cardinals pixie dust.
  23. Pixie dust, etc.. I could see an .820, 26 HR season. Really hoping that it's "true" prospects. Perdomo and Worrell or something like that.
