  1. What? He isn't as bad as Manny: but he does have a bad habit of watching his home runs for too long. You mean like every other power hitter in baseball?
  2. What? Apparently being better than everyone else makes him an ass.
  3. Seriously though, Pujols is probably the most prolific non-steroidal offensive force any of us have seen in our lives. His numbers are just disgusting. Thats quite the assumption Not really.
  4. Yeah, you have the best hitter in the game, and his presence is probably the catalyst that keeps that rattling bucket of spare parts you call a team competitive. Congratulations. Works for me!
  5. And there's another Albert HR.
  6. I'd like to drop Ortiz and add Hunter.
  7. We was down for about 10 minutes, then he was immobilized and carted off on a stretcher. Was he moving fingers or anything at all? He gave the thumbs up as he was being carted out. Apparently he can move all his extremities. An official report on his condition will probably be released some time in the next hour or so. If he can move ALL extremities, he'll be fine. OUCH though... gonna be in a neck brace for awhile. Yeah, I think he'll have whiplash and possibly a fractured jaw/cheekbone. I'm also worried about his left shoulder.
  8. According to the GM, he never lost consciousness and could move and had feeling in his arms and legs. Although I'll say he got knocked out when hit the wall.
  9. http://i39.tinypic.com/rljez6.gif Scary stuff.
  10. Ran into the wall during tonights game. Doesn't look good.
  11. Well, he just got that elusive first HR.
  12. His OBP is 100 points higher than his BA. That's a pretty good sign, no?
  13. I'll say it's just ridiculous for a guy to have that kind of stuff and that kind of feel for pitching. Unfair. VERY rare that you seen a guy who has a great slider AND a great curveball. His ability to throw both as strikeout pitches, while varying the speeds on each, is just sick. And when you combine that with a 96-mph four-seam fastball that has great movement and a low 90s two-seamer with even better movement... well, that's a Hall of Fame type arsenal, IMHO. Sounds like Kerry Wood circa 1998. We know how that story ended.... Kerry also had inconsistent mechanics and a bad arm angle.
  14. How does the NFL stay in business if no players will ever actually be successful? The one percent you don't teach math I take it 1.75 players per year actually "make it." That's completely reasonable. It's not like there are 1500 roster spots to be filled.
  15. I have no rooting interest at all. If you're a Bulls fan you should be pissed that your team could not hold onto a decent lead. Even if they do call a flagrant, it's headed to another overtime at best. The Celtics just flat outplayed the Bulls in the last 5 minutes and in OT.
  16. And it all comes down to Brad Miller.
  17. Paul Pierce is kind of good.
  18. Of course it was a Southern Illinois redneck, oh high and mighty one. I had a blast on Sunday, glad I missed the other two games. Late in the game, I had a Card fan yelling at me, he kept asking if I was from Chicago. I just smiled, but he kept talking [expletive]. He was a tough guy till I jacked his ass up outside the stadium. Wife is still giving me the cold shoulder. classy
  19. The problem with bringing up Scales for a few games is that it doesn't solve the problem for the rest of the season. You can bet that Bradley and Ramirez will miss many more games over the course of this season in addition to the fact that the team needs a RH bat off the bench. Also for all of the agonizing over losing DeRosa, Tatis compares favorably with DeRosa: DeRosa - 34 yrs old .277/.346/.420/.766 13 HRs 65 RBI making $5.5 million Tatis - 34 yrs old .264/.346/.445/.791 21 HRs 81 RBI making $1.7 million His stats are inflated by his great year 10 years ago. Since that year he has been out of the league for 3 years (basically 4) and is sporting a .247 .336 .421 .757 line. He doesn't compare favorably to DeRosa at all, and that's not factoring in Tatis awful defense.
  20. With the 35th pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the St. Louis Cardinals select James Laurinitis. LOL That was great.
  21. After they just traded for that OT from Buffalo? Well I figured they wanted to move in front of Detroit. I don't get why the Eagles moved up then. I didn't think the Browns or Lions would take Maclin. Interesting pick for them though. I could see the Browns wanting to take Maclin because of trading Braylon Edwards.
  22. This draft has not made any sense.
