  1. WHAT TIME IS IT? GAME TIME!!!! HOOO!!!!!! DOH!
  2. I'm so sick of Clemens and his annual dog-and-pony show. He can't be a ballplayer like everyone else and report to spring training, he needs to set his own timeframe for what he thinks is a season. His "I'll sign and play when I'm good and ready" attitude is a slap in the face to baseball.
  3. I hope Ron get in. Chip and Stoney would be among the first to call him.
  4. Sometimes this board can be so overly-dramatic. It's advertising, that's all. It brings $$ into the team you love, hopefully to allow them to add to the payroll. If advertising bothers you, perhaps the problem is you. Wrigley is old and has avoided this sort of revenue for some time. I have no problem with it whatsoever.
  5. =D> :lol: Well said
  6. I heard conflicting reports about his velo - I think a lot of that had to do with his sporadic mechanics. He needs to stay consistant with them to keep his velocity up. I think it will help that Boise pitching coach is going to be at Peoria this coming season. Callis didn't answer my Petrick question in the chat. :( But he answered the Samardzija cap question. :D Come on, you can't tease us like that without giving a short explanation. :D Oh, and another waste of time question: And from someone who doesn't follow the Cubs closely but asks questions in a prospect chat: I wish Callis would have answered 3 serious current Cubs questions instead. At least he didn't go on about Jessica Alba. :evil: QFT x Eleventy million
  7. As will I. Grossman didn't have a great game at all but he is about to be hammered. He has to know it's coming too. I'm out Nite all
  8. Is that an accurate statement? I could've sworn that Cooper was the oldest. You're correct. Dude shredded our D tonight, why are some punking him? The defense was dead tired because the offense couldn't do squat. Too many three and outs or turnovers. Turner put too much pressure on Rex to win the game, play calling was awful. Rex was awful. The defense needed to win the game and couldn't put enough pressure on Manning.
  9. Corrected He wasn't to me. I walked up to him randomly during the Final Four a couple years ago, and he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He talked to me for 10-15 minutes in a hallway, and never seemed upset or irritated at all that I was using up his time-a real down to earth type of guy. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as the oldest kid of a former NFL quarterback. He's been given enough opportunity in his life without people like you drooling all over his pathetic existence. He called out his team publicly last year when "they" cost them the game and people name their kids after him. but if he was a bear you wouldn't care. let's be honest. Probably not
  10. Chico and Turner can walk for all I care. help me and tell me why.... :shock: If any team hires Ron Turner, God bless them. Seconded

  12. Meh I'm pissed off, drunk and being a jerk so I'm outta here. 2 weeks till spring training. Then I get to hear the bs, condescending "Oh this is their year!" crap from the in-laws for the next 8 months. Life sucks.
  13. Maybe, but he's damn good during the game, and that's all I'd really care about. He's an ass
  14. YES!!!! This is probably a good thing, but as an Eagles fan who has watched his team stay good for an extended period, I think the Bears (or any team) have to suffer some painful losses in free agency to maintain success. I remember back when the Eagles dumped Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor, everyone was furious - until Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown played Pro Bowl-calibre football. They let Jeremiah Trotter go in his prime, and they released Corey Simon. They identified their leader on defense (Dawkins) and let a lot of other guys walk. The Bears don't have the high-priced quarterback like the Eagles do, but they're still going to have to draft well so that they can replace talented players who they can't afford to keep. QFT
  15. Shut up BeerHere! That felt good. Marshall Faulk was the smartest player they'll ever have and he knew to get the hell outta that crap hole.
  16. This game sucked. Plain and simple. It's not enough that I have to hear it from my in-laws (live in Indy and are Colts/Cards fans) year after year about being a Cubs fan, not I'll have to relive this [expletive] superbowl every indy 500, thanksgiving and xmas for the rest of my life. Peyton Manning is a prick, threw his team under the bus after they lost last year, now he'll get all the credit in the world for the Bears losing this game. Give me a [expletive] break.
  17. I don't want to turn this into a pot debate, but I believe the point of the article is that this kid is trouble. He has had repeated trouble following the law, and doesn't seem to be able to learn from it. It's not really the amount that was found on him, it's that he had it to begin with. Although the article doesn't mention it, who was driving and was the driver intoxicated? I say the Cubs stay away from this moron.
  18. I believe the name is actually Chuck Liddell, and no, he isn't someone to be messed with.
  19. Waste of a first round pick. Watch him become the all star the Cubs hoped he would be when they drafted him.
  20. So much depends on injuries. If Big Z gets hurt that'll kill the rotation. But, as the team stands right now the regular lineup looks something like this: Rotation Z Lilly Marquis Hill Prior/Miller/Other Lineup RF Soriano LF Murton 1B Lee 3B Ramirez C Barrett CF Jones 2B DeRosa SS Izzy Five games above/below .500. If the combination of Prior or Miller is healthy and pitching well the entire year this team could sniff 90 wins IMO. If Hill continues to improve, Lilly and Marquis somehow both sit above .500, Wood dominates as closer, Izzy gets moved for a better offensive option, and pigs learn to fly this team could dominate.
