Just looked at the box score, Marshall was pretty bad tonight. He just hasn't been the same since he went ont he DL. I wonder if his side is still bothering him and Dusty needed his horse to be on the hill.

I know what you mean, seems sad but not at all unjustified. The team sucks and the attendance reflects the level of interest at the present time. The team mailed in in when DLee went down. It took the fans a little while to realize it, but why would anyone support a group that has quit on it's fans? Why am I here?

Williams blew his chance, plain and simple. I hope he realizes the opportunity staring him in the face and turns it around in Oakland. I doubt it happens but I wish him the best of luck.

Well geez, not to burst the bubble, but Uggla had 21 HR and an .880 OPS in AA last year. Theriot has had 5 minor league HRs in his 6 year career and had a minor league OPS going into this year at .686 OK, so maybe Uggla was a poor example. The Riot has shown an ability to get on base though as evidenced by his +.400 obp this year. Not saying that keep up but who knows, let the kid play.

Let The Riot play out the rest of the year, see what he can do. He may be the next Uggla, he may not be. You'll only find out if you let him play.

Sad but true. There is no justice in baseball.

It has been a truely awful last 12 months. Cubs three biggest rivals make the playoffs (Sox, Cards, Stros), two of which make it to the world series. All while the Cubs fall apart, again. Next season: both the Cards and Sox are primed to reach the playoffs again. Meanwhile the Cubs are injured (again) and completely falling apart at the seams. This has been the worst 2 seasons I can remember. Not just because the Cubs are among the worst in baseball, but because the biggest rivals are playing well and building a winning tradition. 2003 must've been brutal for Sox and Cards fans, but nothing can compare to this.
