Soriano and Nevin didn't move. Just goes to show how bad the Cubs are. No one in the entire league wanted our starting 2B/1B or our #4 starter. They combined netted an A ball prospect and a SS with a bad limb and no stick. The rest of the year will be awful. At least this opens a rotation spot for Hill/Guzman unless Rusch starts.........
So no minor leaguer. Just Izturis for Maddux (a hall of fame/gold glove starting pitcher) and several million dollars. Unbelievable. Is Jim Hendry a Cardinals fan?
The reports I've seen haven't mentioned any minor leagures at all. Same here. It appears the deal is Maddux + 2 million for Izturis. Amazing. Goodness gracious. All I need to hear is a Baker extension.... Push me Jim. I swear to God that I'm done with the Cubs if that happens. Seconded

The fact that Hendry is sending $$$ along with Maddux tells me that a pretty good minor leaguer is coming back. Just a guess on my part. Unless it's a stud (Kemp, Ethier) this is a terrible trade. Izturis has an injury history and the team already has a bunch of his player with his skills. Surprising that it would be this one-sided so it really makes me wonder if/who the minor leaguer is.
A teammate of mine in college stole a credit card from a teammate. Same guy also stole a credit card from his roommate. He got what he deserved (a complete ass-whoopin). He was (and probably still is) pure scum.

Sean Gallagher is 8-2, 2.39 combined between high Class A Daytona and Double-A West Tenn, and he isn't getting much hype. Do you see him developing into a front-of-the-rotation starter, or more of a No. 4 or 5? Justin Montminy Aurora, Ill.
I'm sure this has been brought up in numerous other threads, but what Brenly for manager? If we can't pry Girardi away from the fish, he might be a good gamble as well.
