  1. Why? Traded to the Tigers for Neifi Perez Good move, it saved the Cubs some money and still landed a catching prospect. Thanks Jim Hendry! That catching prospect has 3 hits tonight by the way, including a double and 3 rbi's for Daytona.
  2. Why....what did they do? 2 runs score on a grounder to SS, apparently a misplayed ball in LF, then HR to Jimmy Rollins chopper to cedeno at ss, who stupidly threw home to try and get burrell. throw hit burrell in the back and rolled away, allowing roward to score. only one run should have scored that inning. perfect example of letting the other team have the big inning...made even worse because lieber was on deck. just let them have their one run, let hill take care of lieber, and be done with the inning. Sorry...is this after Izturis was hurt? If so, how was he hurt?
  3. 4-0 according to GameCenter Too many walks for Hill (again). In the majors, those'll kill ya kid. Offense needs to do something against Lieber.
  4. Bold Prediction: Billek gets shelled tonight
  5. Dempster gets booed when he fails too. I don't know if he gets hate mail or anything like that, but the fans are booing for poor performance. The Latroy Hawkins situation must be compared to the current situation with Dempster. There are certainly clods in every crowd, but if Hawkins or Dempster do what they're paid to do, no boos.
  6. We've theorized that it is because Mateo had just hit Clemens, and was due up 3rd in the 6th-and so Dusty was worried about a retaliation hit. Theriot went up instead, and Clemens promptly hit him. Good point I hate Clemens
  7. No clue. He pitched well. I don't get it either.
  8. It isn't looking like a good day down on the farm. Billek lasted 1/3rd and gave up 7 for Boise. Everyone else has either lost or is losing.
  9. Seems like Dempster NEVER make it easy. Nice W though, much needed.
  10. Dempster threw pitch 4 up and in for a strike looking and never went back to that spot.
  11. Oh brother. #-o But ok... :D He has accounted for three of the Cubs runs today though.
  12. The home half of the ninth goes right through the heart of their order (Helton, Atkins Holliday) I have a bad feeling about Dempster today. He seems to be at his worst when the team needs a win the most.
  13. Wow. I knew Marmol walked a bunch of guys but I didn't realize he walked 8 and the Cubs have allowed 10 walks on the day. I guess it's not surprising that the Cubs have walked the most batters in the majors this year. Yup-what was shocking to me was how easy it all was. It was pretty easy for the Rockies to stand up there and walk all day when few pitches get even close to the plate. It seemed like that one batter he would throw 3-4 strikes in the at bat, and then walk the next guy on 4-5 pitches where very few if any were borderline pitches-and that seemed to happen all day long. 106 pitches today and less than half (52) were strikes. wow I wonder if it's a control issue with the FB or breaking stuff. I think he's a slider, FB pitcher, does anyone know if he throws a change or some other breaking pitch?
  14. Ray "Fah" King got Pierre to fly out. Need a solid pen here. Howry in?
  15. Why is Jones in the 3 hole? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! ](*,) <----- so fed up
  16. My only guess is Dusty looks at numbers and doesn't recognize sample size. Barrett 1-7 against Kim coming into taday's game. Mabry 1-1 against Kim coming into today's game. Baker: Dude, Kimm has yet to get Mabry out so he's gotta be out there.
  17. Nice AB by Pierre. Took a called second strike when he was ahead in the count looking for the BB. Pulled the next pitch for a single.
  18. I'd appreciate it if you didnt swear at me like that...... Has anyone heard if he really likes Chicago? I just have this wierd feeling he's gone. Sorry about the cussing. I think he likes Chicago. He probably liked it more when Alou & Sosa were here and when people weren't griping about him as much in the papers and on the radio. Rozner rips him a new one every time I hear him. But I'm sure he's hearing that he can make scads of money in free agency. And I'm sure that other cities might be attractive as well. I don't see how Hendry can possibly replace what would be lost if Aramis walks, given all the other holes. But that's part of the problem ... even with Aramis, I don't have much faith in the Cubs putting together a winning team next year, even in a bad NL. So why should Aramis hang around hoping that the organization can get its act together? He's in his prime and he won't get a better chance to make big bucks like this again now that steroids are illegal so ya, I see him leaving and getting a chance to win. Unfortunately I agree. Likely the reason why his agent built the ipt-out into his contract to begin with. I'd rather see him stay but I'm afraid of the $$$ he'll command. If signing him comes at the cost of signing Schimdt or Zito, I'd pass. pffft...a Cubs team minus ARAM is bad w/ or w/o Zito or Schmidt He'll look for $$ better then Wright. Is he worth $12M, considering the Cubs rotation issues?
