I'm going to be really disappointed in they lose this game.

It was a routine grounder to second and the second baseman took his time and the runner beat it out. That play was hilarious. The announcers spent the next several minutes bagging on Lopez, but it really looked like Albert dogged it to go cover first and Lopez had to wait for him. Either way, great stuff.

Gonna miss yet another one. This sucks. What doesn't suck is that Marquis is going to torch these AAAA clowns and the hitters will sacrifice a bucket of KFC before the game to wake up bats. Cubs win 9-2. -
Well, so much for that. But win and the day is still a productive one. Every day that comes off the calendar without losing ground is a good day.

Agreed. So that'll be, what, probably around September 5? Even if we and MIL go .500 over the next 14 days, that would get us to around 15.

Houston @ Milwaukee, Rodriguez v. Parra, 1:05 CT. Pittsburgh @ St. Louis, Davis v. Wellemeyer, 7:15 CT. A couple more days like yesterday and these threads won't even be necessary anymore.

I think 2006 maybe would have been a good example of this if the Detroit pitchers didn't commit about 25 errors in five games. Beating the '06 Cardinals in the WS wouldn't have been the greatest accomplishment. But overall, I agree that I don't care how the Cubs beat. I'm still going to cry like a little girl. -
